Abstract:
Described is a catalyst composition suitable for use as a selective catalytic reduction catalyst, including small-pore molecular sieve particles having a pore structure and a maximum ring size of eight tetrahedral atoms and impregnated with a promoter metal, and metal oxide particles dispersed within the small-pore molecular sieve particles and external to the pore structure of the small-pore molecular sieve particles, wherein the metal oxide particles include one or more oxides of a transition metal or lanthanide of Group 3 or Group 4 of the Periodic Table. A method for preparing the catalyst, a method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides, and an exhaust gas treatment system are also described.
Abstract:
Described herein is a coating system configured for providing a washcoat onto a substrate. The coating system can be configured to pump a coating solution, particularly a low viscosity solution, into a coating vessel have the substrate positioned therein. The coating system further includes elements configured for removal of a non-coating portion of the coating solution from the substrate and recycling of the non-coating portion. Also described herein are methods for applying a washcoat to a substrate as well as multi-station coater systems.
Abstract:
The principles and embodiments of the present invention relate generally to an apparatus, system, and methods for coating and calcining a catalytic substrate inline, reducing the processing time to prepare a substrate coated with catalytic material. For example, the disclosure describes a multi-station coater system comprising: a raw weight station, wherein an initial weight of a substrate is measured; a first catalytic substrate coating station, wherein a first wet coating comprising a first catalytic coating and a first carrier liquid is introduced into longitudinal cells of the substrate; a first wet weight station, wherein a wet weight of the substrate is measured; a first inline calciner module, wherein a heating fluid is introduced into the substrate to calcine the catalytic coating; and a first calcined weight station, wherein a calcined weight of the substrate is measured.
Abstract:
Described are catalytic articles comprising a substrate having a washcoat on the substrate, the washcoat containing a catalytic component having a first average (D50) particle size and a functional binder component having a second average (D50) particle size in the range of about 10 nm to about 1000 nm, wherein the ratio of the first average (D50) particle size to the second average (D50) particle size is greater than about 10:1. The catalytic articles are useful in methods and systems to purify exhaust gas streams from an engine.
