    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a polyamide based on dicarboxylic acids and diamines, wherein a solid mixture is heated in an extruder, the mixture containing a monomer mixture of 50 mol-% of a dicarboxylic acid mixture of 60 to 88 wt.-% of terephthalic acid and 12 to 40 wt.-% isophthalic acid, in which up to 20 wt.-% of the dicarboxylic acid mixture may also be replaced by other dicarboxylic acids, and 50 mol-% of hexamethylene diamine, up to 20 wt.-% of which may be replaced by other C2-30 diamines, using a synchronized twin screw extruder for a dwell time of 10 seconds to 30 minutes to a temperature in the range from 150 to 400°C while removing water vapor, and possibly diamines, through degassing openings.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing polyamides based on dicarboxylic acids and diamines, comprising the following steps: 1) preparing an aqueous monomer mixture of dicarboxylic acids and diamines, the molar ratio of dicarboxylic acids to diamines being adjusted such that a molar deficit of dicarboxylic acids or diamines of 1 to 10 mol %, relative to the other component, is present at the end of step 3), 2) transferring the aqueous mixture from step 1) into a continuously operated vaporization reactor, in which diamines and dicarboxylic acids are converted at a temperature in the range from 100 to 370 °C and a pressure in the range from 1 to 50 bar, 3) transferring the mixture from step 2) into a precipitator operated at a temperature in the range from 100 to 370 °C under separation of gaseous components, 4) transferring the mixture from step 3), together with diamine or dicarboxylic acid at a quantity suitable to make up for the molar deficit, into an extruder operating at a temperature in the range from 150 to 400°C for a dwell period in the range from 10 seconds to 30 minutes, while removing gaseous components through degassing openings.
