In said container, a fill-level can be detected for monitoring at least one safety level of a safety device (1). The inventive configuration as an optical light guiding system has the advantage that moving mechanical components, such as a float, level control, control lever, control rod etc. are no longer needed. The risk of mechanical failure which involves considerable expenditure, both in terms of reparation time and costs, can thus be reduced to a minimum or completely eliminated.

The aim of the invention is to provide a simple means of partially replacing the washing liquid without any unnecessary consumption of water or energy. To this end, both pumps (10, 12) are operated in order to partially replace the washing liquid and the quantity of washing liquid to be pumped out and replaced is determined using the speed of the variable-speed circulating pump (10).
