摘要: A thermostat device may include a processing system configured to learn a heating schedule at a first location according to an automated schedule learning algorithm that processes inputs including user inputs and occupancy sensing inputs and derives schedule-affecting parameters therefrom that are processed to compute the heating schedule. The processing system may also be configured to determine whether the thermostat has been moved to a new location, and if it is determined that the thermostat has been moved to the new location, then determine one or more parameters associated with the new location and establish a new heating schedule for the new location, and where zero or more of the previously measured schedule-affecting parameters are re-used based on the one or more parameters associated with the new location.

摘要: Inter alia, a hazard detector is disclosed. The hazard detector comprises at least one hazard detection sensor that detects a presence of at least one type of hazard; a motion detection sensor that detects motion in an ambient environment of the hazard detector; a speaker; a light that comprises multiple lighting elements; and a processing system provided in operative communication with the at least one hazard detection sensor, the motion detection sensor, and the light. The processing system is configured to select an illumination state from a plurality of illumination states, wherein each illumination state of the plurality of illumination states is assigned to a status associated with the hazard detector. The processing system is configured to cause the light to illuminate based on the selected illumination state of the plurality of illumination states. The processing system is configured to determine a gesture has been performed based on analyzing motion detected by the motion detection sensor in the ambient environment of the hazard detector following the light being illuminated based on the selected illumination state. The processing system is configured to output a detail of the status via the speaker corresponding to the illumination state in response to determining the gesture has been performed. Also disclosed is a method for a hazard detector to output a status detail.

In one embodiment, a method includes determining monitoring capabilities, enforcement capabilities, or both of an inventory of smart devices within the household environment by: accessing a list of the monitoring capabilities, the enforcement capabilities, or both for each smart device in the inventory; and aggregating the list of the monitoring capabilities, the enforcement capabilities, or both for each smart device in the inventory into an overall list of the monitoring capabilities, the enforcement capabilities, or both for all smart devices in the inventory; and suggesting, automatically implementing, or both suggesting and automatically implementing, one or more household policies to be implemented within the household environment based at least upon the monitoring capabilities, the enforcement capabilities, or a combination thereof of the inventory of smart devices. The household policies comprise one or more input criteria that is derivable from at least one smart device within the household environment, the one or more input criteria relating to a characteristic of the household environment, a characteristic of one or more occupants of the household, or both; and one or more outputs to be provided to at least one of the smart devices within the inventory of smart devices within the household environment based upon the one or more input criteria such that the at least one of the smart devices within the inventory of smart devices within the household environment operates in accordance with the one or more outputs.

The system comprises one or more spokesman smart home devices that communicate via a first high-power communication protocol and a second low-power communication protocol. Therein, each spokesman smart home device of the one or more spokesman smart home devices is connected to household wiring that provides power. Each spokesman smart home device of the one or more spokesman smart home devices communicates with a cloud-based server system via the first high-power communication protocol. Each spokesman smart home device of the one or more spokesman smart home devices translates between the first high-power communication protocol and the second low-power communication protocol. The system comprises one or more low-power smart home devices that communicate using the second low-power communication protocol. Therein, each low-power smart home device of the one or more low-power smart home devices is battery powered. The one or more low-power smart home devices form a mesh network with each other and the one or more spokesman smart home devices. The one or more low-power smart home devices communicate with the cloud-based server system via the one or more spokesman smart home devices using the second low-power communication protocol. Further disclosed is a method for using a smart-home environment networking system.
