    摘要： In a magnetic head employing a metallic ferromagnetic material (32) for portions defining a transducing gap, an oxide film (33) or carbide film (33) and a nonmagnetic metal film (34) are provided in this order on each of track width narrowing grooves, and glass (35) is packed on the nonmagnetic metal film, thereby to prevent the deterioriations of magnetic characteristics ascribable to the reaction between the metallic ferromagnetic material and the glass (35) and the production of bubbles ascribable to the reaction between the protective films and the glass, and to achieve the enhancements of recording and reproducing characteristics, the prevention of damages to a recording medium surface, the increase of a head lifetime and the rise of the available percentage of manufacture of the heads. When a glass film is further provided on the nonmagnetic metal film and the glass (35) is packed thereon, more excellent effects are achieved.

    摘要： An apparatus for recording and reproducing a digital video signal on and from a common recording medium by using the head configuration common to the conventional one while maintaining exchangeability with the current analog VTR. An analog video and audio signals are recorded and reproduced on and from an video track and an underlying deep-layer track, respectively, by means of magnetic heads (1a, 1b) and magnetic heads (2a, 2b). On the other hand, a digital video and audio signal is recorded and reproduced on and from two adjacent tracks by means of the magnetic heads (2a, 2b) for analog audio recording. During reproduction, an identification signal generating circuit (53) generates an identification signal for discriminating a recorded signal, and a control signal is PWM modulated with the identification signal and recorded on a control track by means of a magnetic head (4).
