A two-frequency switch which is used for mobile radio communication of portable telephone, etc., and can be switched to turned-on/off states in two channels with a simple constitution. The two-frequency switch is composed of a parallel connected body of a PIN diode (101) and its compensation circuit (102) which is constituted of a circuit having at least two series resonance points and one parallel resonance point. Therefore, the impedance of the compensation circuit which is capacitive at a frequency as low as a direct current becomes inductive after passing through the first series resonance point and cancels the parasitic capacitance of the diode (101) in the first channel. In addition, the impedance again can become inductive after passing through the next series resonance point from the parallel resonance point and cancel the parasitic capacitance of the PIN diode (101) in the second channel.

An antenna device used for a mobile communication unit such as a portable telephone operates satisfactorily on two or more frequency bands, can be adjusted to control its impedance characteristic, and can be manufactured with high yield. This antenna device comprises a first spiral antenna element (1) having one end open and the other end connected electrically with a high frequency circuit inside a communication terminal, and a second antenna element (2) having both ends open and arranged either outside or inside the first antenna element (1). The second antenna element (2) is electrically insulated from the first antenna, and its position is adjustable relative to the first antenna element to control the impedance characteristic of the antenna device.

A high frequency switch used for a mobile communication apparatus, such as, a portable telephone or the like is provided. The dual band switch may be in an ON or an OFF state in two bands. The dual band switch may comprise a series circuit including a PIN diode and a compensation circuit. The compensation circuit may be formed having at least two series resonance points and one parallel resonance point. The circuit arrangement allows the impedance of the compensation circuit, which is capacitive at low frequency close to a direct current, to become inductive after a first series resonance point, so that a parasitic capacitance of the diode may be canceled in a first band. The impedance of the compensation circuit may also become inductive after a parallel resonance point and the following series resonance point, so that a parasitic capacity of the PIN diode may be canceled in a second band.

A small antenna device having a wide frequency band suitable for being built in mobile communications apparatuses. This antenna device includes a planar radiating element (radiating plate) and a grounding plate provided in parallel to and facing the radiating plate. A feeding line is disposed at approximately the end center of the radiating plate, and supplies high-frequency signals. A shorting portion shorts the radiating plate and grounding plate at near the feeding line. A slit is provided at an end face of the radiating plate approximately opposing the feeding line to form two resonators. A coupling level between two resonators is optimized by adjusting the shape or dimensions of this slit, or loading a reactance element or conductive plate on this slit. Accordingly, a small and short antenna with a preferred characteristic is achieved.

The present invention relates to an antenna device used in mobile communication apparatus such as cellular phones, and which achieves good transmission and reception of information in more than one frequency band. The present invention aims at providing antenna devices and mobile communication apparatus using the devices, which allow an easy and wide ranging adjustment of the impedance properties of the antenna as well as their productive mass production. To satisfy the foregoing purpose, the antenna device of the present invention includes a) a spiral-shaped first antenna element (1) of which one end is open and the other end is electrically connected to a high frequency circuit inside a communication terminal; and b) a second antenna element (2) having both ends being open, and which is insulated from and disposed on either outer or inner surface of the first antenna element (1). The impedance properties of an antenna can be adjusted by changing the disposing position of the second antenna element (2).
