An acoustic wave device (501) comprises an acoustic wave transducer (510, 520) coupled to an acoustic wave propagating substrate (120). The acoustic wave transducer (510, 520) converts signal energy between electrical and acoustical forms. Acoustic reflectors (530, 540) are placed one on either side of the acoustic wave transducer (510, 520). The acoustic reflectors (530, 540) are composed of acoustic reflection elements (544) spaced approximately one acoustic wavelength apart, and provide enhanced acoustic acoustic reflections together with relaxed fabrication constraints.
