The cells contained in such suspensions tend to have a greater capacity for enduring the various process steps typically associated with the sorting of sperm cells into gender enriched populations, thereby resulting in post-sort compositions with an increased number of viable or motile sperm. Processes for forming such cell suspensions, as well as processes for staining sperm cells, are also disclosed.

Pesticidal concentrate and spray compositions are described which exhibit enhanced efficacy due to the addition thereto of a compound which increases cell membrane permeability, suppresses oxidative burst, or increases expression of hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of enhancing the herbicidal effectiveness of glyphosate concentrate and tank mix formulations containing one or more surfactants through the addition of oxalic acid.

A herbicidal composition comprises in aqueous solution a mixture of salts of glyphosate at a total glyphosate a.e. concentration not less than about 360 g/l, wherein (a) said glyphosate is in anionic form accompanied by low molecular weight non-amphiphilic cations in a total molar amount of about 100% to about 120% of the molar amount of said glyphosate; (b) said cations comprise potassium and propylammonium (e.g., isopropylammonium) cations in a mole ratio of about 70:30 to about 90:10; and (c) said potassium and propylammonium cations together constitute about 90 to 100 molar percent of all of said low molecular weight non-amphiphilic cations in the composition.

The present invention relates to aqueous pesticide formulations containing high concentrations of a herbicide, such as the potassium salt of glyphosate, together with surfactants or other adjuvants, including formulations which form anisotropic aggregates (AA) or liquid crystals (LC) on or in the foliage of a plant. More specifically, the present invention relates to glyphosate containing herbicidal formulations containing one or more surfactants that form anisotropic aggregates and/or liquid crystals to facilitate the introduction, uptake and translocation of glyphosate throughout the plant. Methods of killing or controlling unwanted vegetation using such formulations are also described. The invention also relates to novel surfactants and pesticide compositions containing such surfactants.

The methods allow for a decreased staining time. The cells may thereafter be efficiently sorted according to common separation methods, including flow cytometry.
