The method comprises receiving, at the user unit (20), at least one advertisement for an item, said at least one advertisement associated with: at least one alternative advertisement for a different item or for said item offered by a different vendor; and a replacement indication indicating whether a user of said user unit (20) is allowed to replace displaying of said at least one advertisement by displaying of said at least one alternative advertisement; and if the replacement indication indicates that the user is allowed to replace displaying of said at least one advertisement by displaying of said at least one alternative advertisement, replace displaying of said at least one advertisement by displaying said at least one alternative advertisement in accordance with a selection of the user.

摘要： Apparatus (10) for digital recording of a program comprises: a processor (45) for determining whether to record the program; a circular buffer (55) associated with the processor (45) and operative to store the program in response to a recording determination received from the processor (45); a conditional access module (135) for providing conditional access to the program stored in the circular buffer (55); and input apparatus (115) operatively associated with the processor (45), wherein: upon receiving a freeze indication via the input apparatus (115), the processor (45) is operative to record the program in the circular buffer (55) from a moment of receiving the freeze indication, and upon receiving a play indication via the input apparatus (115), the processor (45) is operative to play the program recorded in the circular buffer (55) from the moment of receiving the freeze indication in accordance with conditions determined by the conditional access module (135).

摘要： A method for detecting a broadcast commercial in a digital broadcast stream is disclosed. The digital broadcast stream comprises programs, a set of commercials to be displayed during breaks in the programs, and metadata associated with each of the programs and each commercial in the set of commercials. The method comprises: receiving (320) the digital broadcast stream at a user unit (20); and for each commercial in the set of commercials, detecting a commercial (360) by detecting indicia in the metadata received in the digital broadcast stream that indicate at least one of the following: a start point of the commercial; an end point of the commercial; and a presence point in the commercial.
