A hydrogen separation membrane comprises a palladium alloy that includes at least palladium, silver as an added metal A, and copper as an added metal B. The content of silver in the palladium alloy is 10 to 40 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of palladium, and the content of copper in the palladium alloy is 1 to 15 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of palladium. The hydrogen separation membrane exhibits excellent hydrogen permeability and durability.

A liquid separation membrane installation body includes a porous base material, and a liquid separation membrane provided on the porous base material, the liquid separation membrane is a porous membrane formed of a dispersant layered inorganic compound, and a membrane thickness of the liquid separation membrane is 0.1 to 1.5 µm. The liquid separation membrane is preferably formed of a sheet-like dispersant layered inorganic compound which has a thickness of 0.1 to 100 nm, a major diameter of 0.01 to 5 µm and an aspect ratio (the major diameter/the thickness) of 3 or more and which is formed into the membrane on the porous base material. There is disclosed the liquid separation membrane installation body capable of increasing a permeation flow rate of a liquid.

A hydrogen separation membrane comprising a palladium alloy that includes at least palladium, an added metal A, and an added metal B, the added metal A and the added metal B being two different metals other than palladium, each of the added metal A and the added metal B forming a complete solid solution with palladium, and the added metal A and the added metal B having a triple point in an equilibrium diagram and not forming an intermetallic compound. The hydrogen separation membrane exhibits excellent hydrogen permeability and durability.

To provide a method for recovering olefin that allows continuously recovering high concentration olefin from olefin-containing gas containing olefin. A method for recovering olefin includes: an olefin concentrating process of supplying a part or all of an olefin-containing gas containing olefin to an olefin-containing-gas separating unit that includes a separation membrane and causing this olefin-containing gas to transmit the separation membrane so as to obtain an olefin concentrated gas reduced in concentration of a component other than olefin to 1/10 or less compared with a concentration of a component other than olefin in the olefin-containing gas; and a residual-gas combustion process of disposal of residual gas that does not transmit the separation membrane in the olefin concentrating process by burning.
