摘要: An electron emitter includes an emitter layer formed of a dielectric material, an upper electrode, and a lower electrode. A drive voltage is applied between the upper electrode and the lower electrode, for emitting electrons. The upper electrode is formed of scale-like conductive particles on the upper surface of the emitter layer and has a plurality of opening portions. The surfaces of flange portions of the opening portions that face the emitter layer are apart from the emitter layer. The flange portions each have such a cross-sectional shape as to be acutely pointed toward the inner edge of the opening portion, or the tip end of the flange portion, so that lines of electric force concentrate at the inner edge.

摘要: A liquid-drop spraying device is provided which can perform a stable liquid discharge without making air bubbles produced in the liquid of the pressurized room as well as the amount of liquid supply per unit time is increased. As applying voltage signal to the piezoelectric / electrostriction element of the drive electronics is shown along with the passage of time, the liquid can be flowed into the liquid pressurized room uniformly, and without entrainment of bubbles from the nozzle side by making the initial discharge time constant being larger than the second discharge time constant in the range of a fall time T3 or T4 in which different discharges are in turn performed with discharge time constant and by suctioning the liquid at a slow supply speed from the inlet hole after liquid discharge. On the other hand, as for the liquid having started to move, since the liquid can be rapidly suctioned with the second smaller discharge time constant, the liquid supply can be performed smoothly and a driving period time T5 can be shortened comparing with the case of suctioning the liquid to the last with the initial time constant, thereby enabling a stable and large amount of liquid discharge per unit time period.

摘要: A large number of display components (14) are arranged and fixed, for example, in a matrix configuration on a first principal surface of a large optical guide plate (140) to construct a main display device body (102). A substance (130) having a light-transmitting property adjusted for its refractive index is allowed to intervene at least between the large optical guide plate (140) and the display components (14). The refractive index of the substance (130) is preferably similar to the refractive index of the large optical guide plate (140) as closely as possible. As for the light-transmitting property of the substrate (130), it is preferable that the transmittance is not less than 50 % for the perpendicular incident light at the wavelength in the visible light region, and it is more preferable that the transmittance is not less than 70 %, in order to successfully introduce the light into the display component (14) in an efficient manner and suppress the electric power consumption.

摘要: In a first step of a method for producing a transparent AlN sintered body, first, a formed body is prepared by forming a mixture obtained by mixing a sintering aid with an AlN raw-material powder containing a plate-like AlN powder whose plate surface is a c-plane and which has an aspect ratio of 3 or more. At this time, the mixture is formed such that the plate surface of the plate-like AlN powder is disposed along a surface of the formed body. In a second step, an oriented AlN sintered body is obtained by subjecting the formed body to hot-press sintering in a non-oxidizing atmosphere while applying a pressure to the surface of the formed body. In a third step, a transparent AlN sintered body is obtained by sintering the oriented AlN sintered body at normal pressure in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to remove a component derived from the sintering aid.
