摘要: A method is directed to a production of a bearing device for a wheel including an inner member (1) and an outer member (2) rotatable relative to each other through a plurality of rolling elements (3), in which a component part forming one of the inner member (1) and the outer member (2) is a hot forged product. In the practice of this method, during or at the end of a hot forging step for hot forging the component part, a portion of the component part is cooled by spraying a coolant or by controlling an atmospheric temperature, to thereby render a matrix of the component part to represent a standard structure and render a surface portion of the component part to represent a non-standard structure (30).

摘要: A torque-detecting device having sufficient mechanical strength, capable of performing accurate torque measurement, having excellent workability suitable for mass-production, and capable of avoiding a problem of damage in heat treatment. The torque-detecting device constituted of a portion (3) subjected to torque detection provided on a surface layer portion of a steel torque-transmitting shaft (2), a detecting coil (4) provided opposite the outer periphery of the portion (3) without contact, and detected signal-processing means (5). The portion (3) subjected to torque detection is a magnetostriction material layer constructed from an Al diffusion layer. In the diffusion layer, Al is diffused in the steel material such that its concentration gradually diminishes from the surface toward the center of the shaft.

When an effective cured-layer depth with Hv 513 is denoted by Di and the diameter of the ball is denoted by d, a bottom surface of a track groove of an inner joint member includes a cured layer with an effective cured-layer depth ratio Di/d of at least 0.111 or more.

摘要: A bearing device for a wheel enabling the easy control of quality since there is no possibility of cracking even if caulking is applied thereto. The bearing device comprises an outer ring (3) having double rows of raceway surfaces on the inner periphery thereof, an inner member having raceway surfaces opposed to the raceway surfaces, and balls (1) interposed between the double rows of raceway surfaces opposed to each other. The inner member further comprises a HUB ring (4) and an inner ring (2). Caulking is applied to the HUB ring (4) to join it to the inner ring (2). The grain size number of the austenite grains of a caulked section (4b) is at least 6.

摘要: Provided is a fixed type constant velocity universal joint which can achieve, at low cost, excellent properties in terms of durability, high load condition, low load condition, and high angle condition. The fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises a lubricating grease sealed therein. A surface roughness of a ball (37) is set to Ra 0.15 µm or less and a surface roughness of a counterpart surface on which the ball (37) rolls is set to be higher than the surface roughness of the ball (37). An additive composition of the lubricating grease comprises a base oil, a diurea compound, molybdenum dithiocarbamate, zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, melamine cyanurate, molybdenum disulfide, and calcium salt of alkylaromatic sulfonic acid.

摘要: Provided are a hollow shaft capable of increasing a static torsional strength and torsional fatigue strength of a small diameter portion (small diameter portion having a smooth outer peripheral surface) formed near a spline at an end portion of the hollow shaft, and capable of reducing cost, and a constant velocity universal joint using the hollow shaft. A hollow shaft (1) is molded by plastic working from a tubular blank, and subjected to quench hardening treatment. The quench hardening treatment includes carburizing and quenching treatment. The hollow shaft (1) includes a softened section (M) formed in a part of the hollow shaft (1) by local heating treatment after carrying out the carburizing and quenching treatment.
