The roller for a power transmission device that comprises a plurality of rollers in contact with each other directly or with lubricant between them, includes: a metal base having a Young's modulus of 220 GPa or less; and a coating that is formed on a surface of the metal base, includes hard particles and a metal component composed of at least either simple metal or alloy, and has a Young's modulus of 250 GPa or more. The power transmission device includes the roller. The method of manufacturing the roller includes: forming the coating on the surface of the metal base by thermal spraying using a thermal spray material that comprises the hard particles and the metal component composed of at least either simple metal or alloy.

The present invention provides a method for joining metal materials which can directly join the metal materials at least either one of which has an oxide film on the surface to each other, and can be performed in the air, at low temperature, under low pressure and at low cost. To join a first member 1 with at least a joining face made of Metal A to a second member 2 with at least a joining face made of Metal B, an insert 3 is interposed between the joining faces, and the members are heated while applying an opposing pressure, so that the insert 3 causes an eutectic reaction with both Metal A and Metal B, and the eutectic melt is discharged from the joining face along with oxide films 1 f and 2f of the Metal A and Metal B. The first and second members 1 and 2 are thus joined to each other.

An inexpensive bonding method is provided with which it is possible to bond materials constituted of an aluminum-based metal to each other at a low temperature and a low pressure in the air while inhibiting deformation and without requiring the use of a flux and to minimize the influence on the base materials and on the periphery. Also provided are various bonded parts obtained by applying the bonding method. An insert material (2) comprising Zn as an element that undergoes a eutectic reaction with Al is interposed between two materials (1, 1) constituted of an aluminum-based metal. The two materials (1, 1) are heated, while being pressed against each other, to a temperature at which the eutectic reaction takes place, thereby generating, at the bonding interface between the two materials (1, 1), a melt due to the eutectic reaction with some of the Al contained in the base materials and discharging the Al oxide films (1a) from the bonding interface together with the melt. Thus, the two materials are bonded.

An incremental forming tool of the present invention includes a holding portion attached to an incremental forming apparatus and a free curved surface part for pressing a metal plate. The free curved surface part is made of at least a hard metal base material and a surface of the free curved surface part is covered with a hard film. The surface of the hard film has an Rpk of 0.15 µm or less, the Rpk is defined by JIS B 0671 and is calculated from a material ratio curve of a roughness curve, and has an Ra of 0.2 µm or less, the Ra is defined by JIS B 0601 and is calculated from a roughness curve. Therefore, a molded product having a smooth worked surface with no roughness can be produced without adding any extra equipment for preventing adhesion.

The problem can be solved by a molded rare-earth magnet having a rare-earth magnet phase that contains as a main component a nitride which contains Sm and Fe, in which the molded rare-earth magnet has a density of 80% or higher of the theoretical density of a molded magnet constituted of the rare-earth magnet phase, and has a structure in which particles of Zn and/or Mn have been dispersed in the molded magnet.
