    摘要： A method in a communication system for providing communication sessions is provided. The method comprises the steps of registering a user equipment with a data network and then registering the user equipment with a service provider by means of the data network. A data session may then be activated between the user equipment and the service provider via a communication network. Subsequent to the activation, a request can be sent from the user equipment to the service provider for a communication session with at least one other party. The already activated data session can be used for communication between the user equipment and the requested at least one other party. A communication system and an application server configured to operate accordingly are also provided.

    摘要： A solution for establishing a session of a real-time media communication service in a communication system comprising at least two separately administered subsystems. The invented method comprises detecting that the terminating subscriber does not belong to the same subsystem as the originating subscriber, determining a defined transit server that has access to a subscriber database of the subsystem of the terminating subscriber, and querying subscriber information related to the requested session with a first control message that comprises parameters of the requested session to the transit server. A real-time media communication connection may be established between users of separate administrative subsystems so that operators of each subsystem have full control of their own network elements, and the internal connection establishment procedures need minimal alterations for the functionality.
