The invention concerns a method for blow moulding plastic hollow bodies which consists in: associating with each mould (7) a particular compression chamber (21), consisting of a cylinder (20)-piston (19) assembly; initialising the pressure in the chamber; compressing the fluid in the chamber; communicating (22, 24, 25) the chamber with the blank (9) when the position of the piston reaches a predetermined position and keeping on reducing the chamber volume to complete the blow moulding. The invention is particularly useful for blow moulding hollow bodies with a small volume.
