摘要:
An optical disc and an optical disc drive for the optical disc are provided which are suitable for recording data with a high density. The optical disc D uses both lands and grooves as recording tracks. Each of the tracks consists of one address segment and forty five data segments. The address segment is wobbled at one side thereof. Each of the data segments is a DC groove. The address segment records an address information including a sync signal, frame address, track address and CRC, a tilt pattern and a clock mark. The clock mark is adapted to reflect laser beam in one amount before the mark and in another amount after the mark. The tilt pattern has a different track pitch from those in other areas. The data segments record data magneto-optically.
摘要:
A magneto-optical information recording/reproducing apparatus in which a magneto-optical information recording medium (1) at least including a first magnetic film having magneto-optical information recorded on a track and having perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, and a second magnetic film to which the magneto-optical information recorded on the first magnetic film is transferred by irradiation of a laser beam, is used so that a readout laser beam is irradiated onto the second magnetic film to thereby readout the magneto-optical information transferred to the second magnetic film. The apparatus includes a 2-split detection circuit (18) constituted by two detection elements (18a, 18b) for receiving the readout laser beam reflected from the second magnetic film of the magneto-optical information recording medium, and a subtraction circuit (19) in which output signals of the two detection elements of the 2-split detection circuit having levels corresponding to the quantities of light received by the two detection elements respectively are subtracted from each other to generate a differential signal expressing the difference between the output signals. The apparatus further comprises a circuit (22, 23) for making a spot of the laser beam jump one track before readout of the magneto-optical information from the magneto-optical information recording medium, a positive/negative balance correction circuit (20) for detecting an amplitude ratio between positive and negative side amplitudes in a track jump signal generated in the differential signal from the subtraction circuit in response to the track jump to thereby output a correction signal in accordance with the amplitude ratio, and an addition circuit (21) for adding the correction signal to the differential signal to thereby generate a tracking error signal for tracking control used in readout of the magneto-optical information from the magneto-optical information recording medium.

A lens assembly (10) is provided for causing a laser beam (B) to form a focal spot (P) in a recording region (D2) of an optical recording medium (D) including a substrate (D1). The lens assembly (10) includes a plurality of focusing lenses (20) each including an incidence surface (21) for receiving the laser beam and an emitting surface (22) for emitting the laser beam. Each focusing lens (20) is arranged so that the emitted laser beam is caused to converge at a first focus (F 1 ) located in contact with the substrate of the optical recording medium (D). The focusing lens (20) is also arranged so that light sent from the first focus (F 1 ) is caused to converge at a second focus (F 2 ) located in the recording region (D 2 ) of the optical recording medium (D) to form the focal spot.

摘要:
A method is provided for storing data by distributing the data into plural storage units that are accessible independently of one another. The method includes the steps of dividing data to be stored into plural data blocks, generating parity data corresponding to the data blocks, distributing the plural data blocks and the parity data into the storage units to let the storage units store the same, responding to a situation where any of the storage units becomes inaccessible, reconstructing data stored in the storage unit that has become inaccessible before the situation occurs based on data stored in the remaining storage units, dividing the reconstructed data into plural reconstructed data blocks, generating parity data corresponding to the reconstructed data blocks, and distributing the plural reconstructed data blocks and the parity data corresponding thereto into accessible storage units to let the accessible storage units store the same.
