An initial phenotypic map is derived for a patient subjected to an initial therapeutic regimen including a first drug, based on values of a therapeutic outcome for the patient and corresponding values of a dose of the first drug administered to the patient. Following a change from the initial therapeutic regimen to an updated therapeutic regimen, an updated value of the therapeutic outcome is received for the patient subjected to the updated therapeutic regimen. The initial phenotypic map is re-calibrated according to the updated value of the therapeutic outcome, and, using the re-calibrated phenotypic map, identication is made of a value of the dose of the first drug to be administered to the patient subjected to the updated therapeutic regimen.

A surface micromachined micromagnetic actuator is provided with a flap (14) using magnetic force as the actuating force. The flap is coupled by one or more beams (16) to a substrate and is cantilevered over the substrate. A Permalloy layer or a magnetic coil (12) is disposed on the flap such that when the flap is placed in a magnetic field, it can be caused to selectively interact and rotate out of the plane of the magnetic actuator. The cantilevered flap is released from the underlying substrate by etching out an underlying sacrificial layer disposed between the flap and the substrate (22). The etched out and now cantilevered flap is magnetically actuated to maintain it out of contact with the substrate while the just etched device is dried in order to obtain high release yields.

Results of the tests are fitted into a model of the complex system by using multi-dimensional fitting.
