[Abstract] A surface-treated aluminum plate obtained by forming, on at least one surface of an aluminum plate, a conversion-coated layer that contains a polyester resin and a zirconium compound or a titanium compound. The surface-treated aluminum plate excellently adheres to an organic resin coating and can be used as a material for producing cans featuring excellent corrosion resistance and shock resistance.

The present invention relates to a gas barrier coating material composition containing a metal oxide and a phosphoric acid compound, and provides a coating material composition capable of forming a gas barrier coating film having more excellent oxygen barrier properties and water vapor barrier properties as well as transparency, without causing volatilization of an inorganic acid, by adding a polyvalent metal carboxylate salt soluble in phosphoric acid to a metal oxide and a phosphoric acid compound; and a gas barrier laminate provided with the gas barrier coating film (gas barrier layer).

An organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet having excellent adaptability to producing cans, capable of providing can bodies having excellent hot water-resistant adhering property, providing can lids having excellent adaptability to being formed into lids and having excellent hot water-resistant adhering property, the organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet, further, having a surface-treatment coating of the chromium-free type formed by the application treatment exerting small load on the environment and also having advantage in economy. The organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet has the surface-treatment coating and an organic resin film on the surface-treatment coating on at least one surface of the metal sheet. The surface-treatment coating contains a poly-carboxylic acid type polymer and a polyvalent metal compound. If the surface-treatment coating is measured for its infrared-ray absorption spectra, a peak height ratio ( β / α ) of a maximum absorption peak height ( α ) in a wave number range of 1660 to 1760 cm -1 and a maximum absorption peak height ( β ) in a wave number range of 1490 to 1659 cm -1 is from 0.05 to 2.35.

A coated metal sheet further covered with an organic resin obtained by forming, on at least one surface of a metal sheet, a coating film and further forming thereon an organic resin layer. The coating film contains a polyester resin having a glass transition temperature of 20 to 55°C, a phenol resin and an acid catalyst, in order to be able to provide the coated metal sheet further covered with the organic resin that is suited for producing cans and can lids having excellent applicability for producing cans and excellent dent resistance.

A gas barrier material comprising a polycarboxylic acid polymer, and containing 0.10 to 1.4% by weight of a monovalent metal element, at least not less than 5.0% by weight of a polyvalent metal element, and 0.01 to 3.0% by weight of a nitrogen element per the total weight of nitrogen and carbon. The gas barrier material exhibits excellent gas barrier property, excellent waterproof property after the bend working and excellent appearance on the surface of the coating.

A gas barrier laminate having an undercoating (A) which comprises a main resin, an isocyanate type curing agent and an alkaline compound of a polyvalent metal; and a barrier layer (B) of a polycarboxylic acid polymer forming an ionic crosslinking due to the polyvalent metal among the carboxyl groups; formed on at least one surface of a plastic base material (P), wherein a region (b) free of the alkaline compound of the polyvalent metal is formed in the undercoating (A) on the side of the barrier layer (B), the content of nitrogen in the region (b) being larger than the content of nitrogen in the undercoating (A) other than the region (b), the gas barrier laminate having excellent gas barrier property, retort resistance, producibility as well as excellent flexibility without developing interlayer peeling even if it is folded and featuring excellent interlayer adhesion.
