According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the molecular assembly of the present invention forms a stable vesicular structure under a physiological pH environment to carry a substance of interest in the vesicular structure, and can release the substance of interest to the outside of the vesicular structure when it is deformed under an acidic pH environment. The molecular assembly of the present invention can be used as a carrier for a drug, a probe, a nucleic acid, a protein or the like.

A method whereby hemoglobin vesicles containing oxidized methemoglobin are reduced by light irradiation to thereby recover the oxygen-coordination ability; and an apparatus therefore. An amino acid, sugars, alcohols and flavins, each in an appropriate amount, are added to the internal aqueous phase of hemoglobin vesicles. When the hemoglobin is oxidized and thus the content of methemoglobin is increased, the vesicles are reduced by irradiating with light so that the ability to coordinate oxygen is recovered and the function is sustained.
