摘要： A process is disclosed for making chewing gum with a wax-coated delayed release ingredient. According to the method, a quantity of a powdered ingredient, such as a high-potency sweetener, is heated and mixed with a quantity of molten wax, such as a polyethylene wax. Preferably, the quantity of wax is limited so as to produce a damp mix which is characterized as being dust-free, non-flowing and crumbly. The damp mixture is then cooled in order to solidify. The cooled mix is then treated, e.g. by grinding and/or screening, to produce the desired particle size range in the coated ingredient particles.

摘要： A method for producing a chewing gum with a controlled release active agent, as well as the chewing gum so produced, is obtained by physically modifying the release properties of the active agent by coating and drying. The active agent is coated by encapsulation, partially coated by agglomeration, entrapped by absorption, or treated by multiple steps of encapsulation, agglomeration, and absorption. The coated active agent is preferably then co-dried and particle sized to produce a release-modified active agent for use in chewing gum. The active agent may also be used in a coating on a chewing gum product, as part of a rolling compound applied to the chewing gum product, or as a part of the liquid in a liquid-center chewing gum product.

摘要： Procédé de production de chewing-gum avec un ingrédient à libération retardée enrobé de cire. Selon le procédé, une quantité d'un ingrédient pulvérulent, tel qu'un édulcorant très puissant, est chauffée et mélangée avec une quantité d'une cire fondue, telle qu'une cire de polyéthylène. De préférence, la quantité de cire est limitée de manière à produire un mélange qui est caractérisé en ce qu'il est exempt de poussière, non coulant et friable. Le mélange est ensuite refroidi de manière à se solidifier. Le mélage refroidi est ensuite traité, par exemple par broyage et/ou tamisage pour produire les particules d'ingrédients enrobées ayant une taille désirée.
