The machine comprises, for each shoulder (5,6), downstream of the last grinding wheel (10a,10b,10c) in the direction of advancement of the plates (3), a sensor (30) for detecting the dimensions of the plates (3) being machined which drives an advancement device (AD.M.) for the advancement of the last grinding wheel.
