摘要:
An apparatus to be appended to a rotary printing press for binding a succession of stacks ( S ) of printings with a thermally fusible paper band ( B ), comprising means ( R 1 , R 2 ) for supplying a continuous length of thermally fusible band, a band looper (2) for looping the band around the stack ( S ) on a slotted platform (1), a tightening roller (51) for tightening the looped band against the stack, a band heater (35) for heating the lapping parts of the tightened band under the platform into a fused joint, and a cutter (36) for cutting off the band in a position just upstream of the fused joint. With a view to efficient fusion of the thermoplastic overlay of the fusible paper band on the successive stacks ( S ), a heater control circuit (37) is provided for causing the band heater (35) to be normally energized for a first preassigned period of time ( T a ) at constant intervals during the operation of the apparatus and, in response to the heating of the band on each stack, after the fusion jointing, at least for a second preassigned period of time ( T b ) which is longer than the first preassigned period time.
摘要:
A mechanism in a web-fed rotary press for cutting a continuous web ( W ) of printed paper into discrete sheets ( W 1 ) and folding the successive sheets into the form of signatures ( W 2 ). Included are a cutting cylinder (1) having a cutting blade (4), a folding cylinder (2) held opposite the cutting cylinder and having pins (7) on its surface for piercing the web of printed paper so as to cause the same to enwrap the folding cylinder, there being a counter cutting bar (5) in the folding cylinder for receiving the cutting blade on the cutting cylinder in order to have the web of paper thereby severed successively into sheets ( W 1 ), a foldng blade (8) mounted to the folding cylinder for travel radially thereof in order to push each sheet off the folding cylinder surface, a jaw cylinder (3) held opposite the folding cylinder and having a cavity (10) extending parallel to its axis and opening to its surface for receiving the folding blade on the folding cylinder together with the sheet being pushed thereby, and a movable jaw (13) arranged in the cavity for movement toward and away from a fixed jaw (11) in order to crease the sheet that has been pushed into the cavity, by catching the sheet between the jaws. In order to keep the printed surfaces of each sheet ( W 1 ) folded, superimposed and contacted each other from being ink-stained by pressing hard against the jaws (11, 13) upon insertion in the cavity, an indentation (17) is formed in the fixed jaw (11) so as to be in opposed relationship to an insert part (21) of the folding blade on the folding cylinder (2) in the cavity as the folding blade is inserted in the cavity (10). Preferably, a similar indentation 19 is formed also in the movable jaw (13).
摘要:
The present invention relates to a device for adjusting the width of a paper web at a rotary lithographic press and the object of the present invention is to prevent ink or specks of paper from becoming attached to contact parts of a pressing member so as to contaminate the surface of the paper web, and to enable straightforward fitting and removing of a rotatable pressing member. This configuration is therefore provided with one or more pressing members 1 with a plurality of contact members 11 provided integrally in a rotating manner so as to be capable of being mutually separated along the widthwise direction of a paper web W, a support shaft 20 supporting the pressing member(s) 1 in a rotatable manner, wavy surface adjustment means 2 capable of moving the support shaft 20 towards and away from the surface of the paper web W, and pressing member rotation drive means 4 for simultaneously rotating and driving the pressing member 1. It is then possible to move at least one of the pressing members 1 towards and away from the surface of the paper web W and rotational drive is possible in such a manner that rotational speed of the peripheral surfaces of the contact member 11 of the pressing member(s) 1 may be different to the speed of travel of the paper web W.

It was difficult to precisely adjust the distance between an outer circumferential surface of a fountain roller F and an ink supplying surface of an ink rail 1. Therefore, an ink rail for a printing press has an ink rail body 4, a pedestal 3, a supporting member 2 and a distance adjusting means 7. The ink rail body 4 has a concave curved surface formed over two members 5, 6 joined on a joining face so as to be divided, and also has an ink supplying surface 40 having plural ink supplying ports 56 opened to the concave curved surface along the joining face. The pedestal 3 supports the ink rail body 4 in a supporting plane parallel to the joining face of the ink rail body 4. The supporting member 2 supports the pedestal 3 so as to be angularly displaced. The distance adjusting means 7 can reciprocate the ink rail body 4 along the supporting plane of the pedestal 3 in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the ink rail body 4. The joining face of the ink rail body 4 approximately conforms to a plane including a rotation central line of the fountain roller F in an operating position Y, and the concave curved surface of the ink rail body 4 can be approached and separated from the outer circumferential surface of the fountain roller F so as to adjust the distance therebetween.
