The invention concerns a vertical plate freezer for freezing foodstuffs, e.g. freezing fish on board a fishing vessel. The plate freezer has forks (7) provided with lower and rear coverings (10,11). The forks (7) have a toe (40) with a contact surface facing slantingly upwards and which can abut on a contact plate (17) with a contact surface facing slantingly downward so that water may easily run off the slantingly downward facing contact surface. The contact surface is preferably made of thermally insulating material. The coverings are fastened to support members (8,9) by means of transition elements (18) made of a thermally insulating material, so that the coldness from the coverings (10,11) is not conducted to the support members (8,9).

A mobile container adapted for transporting perishable goods includes a front wall (12), a rear wall (14), a pair of side walls (16) extending therebetween so as to define an elongated enclosure having longitudinal axis and adapted to receive a cargo load. An air recirculation plenum (128) is defined in the enclosure adjacent to the front wall (12). A refrigeration system is in fluid communication with the air recirculation plenum (128) and is adapted to induct air at a first temperature and to exhaust air at a second temperature. A pair of air delivery plenums extend from the bulkhead along the length of the enclosure parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each of the pair of air delivery plenums is defined by a corresponding one of the pair of side walls (16) and a plenum wall disposed spaced from the corresponding side wall and extending from the upper margins of the enclosure such that the plenum wall is adapted to be co-extensive and in abutting contact with the portion of the cargo load. The container also includes a source of pressurized air having an inlet in fluid communication with the exhausted air from the refrigeration system and an outlet in fluid communication with the pair of air delivery plenums (126).

Durch das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren soll ein hochwertiges, fruchthaltiges Getränk herstellbar sein, welches trotz einer verhältnismäßig langen Lagerzeit sich qualitativ nicht verschlechtert. Außerdem soll das Gewicht für den Transport wesentlich herabgesetzt werden. Ein Fruchtfleisch und Fruchtkonzentrat enthaltendes Gemisch wird trinkmengengerecht portioniert, diese Portionen werden durch Abkühlung in feste Formlinge verwandelt. Durch Zugabe einer entsprechenden Menge einer Aufbereitungsflüssigkeit, beispielsweise Wasser, wird einer trinkbare Menge des Getränkes vom Verbraucher selbst hergestellt. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist besonders für die Zubereitung von Orangensaft, Grapefruitsaft, Zitrussaft o.dgl. im Haushalt anwendbar.

The current invention concerns a method for freezing food products and/or thawing frozen food products comprising placing the food products in a climate chamber with a controlled humid climate, air flow and temperature, characterized in that the frozen food products are subjected to an aerosol comprising atomized water droplets. In a second and third aspect, the invention concerns a food product thawed by the method according to the current invention, and a climate chamber for freezing and thawing of food products.

A cooling device (1) comprising a nitrogen-enriched storage compartment (2) containing nitrogen-enriched air and an oxygen- enriched storage compartment containing oxygen- enriched air. By way of the present invention, vegetal food products such as fresh vegetables, fruit etc. can be stored in the nitrogen-enriched storage compartment (2) , and animal food products such as fresh meat, fish etc. can be stored in the oxygen-enriched storage compartment (3) providing to extend the shelf lives of these food products.

The present invention is related to frozen or deep-frozen fruit products that have the shape and dimensions of the food product on which to apply the fruit product directly in its frozen state, the fruit product being coated with a powder layer able to avoid juice leaking from said fruits or fruit pieces and to prevent loss of shape, form and stability. The present invention in particular relates to coated strawberry discs or rings ready to use on pies. The invention is also related to the preparation process of said frozen fruit products and to their use for the preparation of a fruit composition.
