To operate as a broiler, a special cover (82) containing a heating element (90) supported by a serpentine parabolic reflector (86) is placed over an adjustable food rack (80) located within the upper pan (28'). The element (90) has a connector block (92) with a jack (92a) that is received in a power input block (94) built into the lower pan (24').
