摘要:
An apparatus for cleansing wounds, in which irrigant fluid from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing, and in which the cleansing means sits in the wound in use. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. micro-filtration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. Also, the dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

A wound dressing assembly includes a wound cover and a carrier. The wound cover has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface has disposed thereon a wound cover pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a colloidal absorbent, and it is arranged and configured to adhere to mammalian skin during use. The carrier has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface of the carrier is disposed in facing relation and is removably attached to the second major surface of the wound cover, and it has disposed thereon at least one pressure sensitive adhesive. After application of the wound cover to skin for use, the carrier is removable from the wound cover to leave the wound cover adhered to the skin.

Methods and devices for management of fluids during skin graft transplantation are disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, absorbent substrates for transplanting skin grafts are disclosed having a surface adapted to contact at least one excised skin graft and engage said graft for removal from a donor site; a sealing member at least partially surrounding an absorbent material disposed within the enclosure; wherein at least a portion of the skin-contacting surface is porous and in fluid communication with the absorbent layer to capture fluids.

The present invention provides a 3-layered wound dressing comprising two outer layers fabrics and one middle layer fabric. The density of the said two outer layer fabrics is greaterthan that of the middle layer. The weight of the two outer layerfabrics is between 8-140 gsm, density 0.08-0.32 g/cm3. The said dressing provides a good fluid and moisture retention property, allowing a large amount of wound exudates to be absorbed and contained within the middle layer and preventing the absorbed wound exudates to contaminate healthy skin.

摘要:
A discontinuous silicone article is disclosed that includes a plurality of strands of radiation cured silicone gel arranged to form a net-like structure with openings between strands. The silicone gel provides adhesion to a surface, such as skin, and the openings provide for moisture transmission away from the surface. The discontinuous silicone article comprises at least one adhesive polymer strand and a plurality of joining strands. The adhesive polymer strands comprise a radiation cured silicone gel and each polymer strand repeatedly contacts an adjacent joining strand at bond regions.

Methods and apparatuses for phototherapy to treat skin disorders. In particular, described herein are phototherapy dressings for use with phototherapy UV light applicators (sources) to treat skin disorders such as psoriasis. The dressings described herein may include a support body onto which a medicament formed of a hydrogel and coal tar and/or coal tar extract is held. The dressing may be configured so that at least half (50%) of the UV light within a therapeutic range of wavelengths is through the dressing including the medicament to the patient's skin. The dressings may be adapted for use in conjunction with a phototherapy UV light sources.

A medical dressing (30) is disclosed, comprising an adhesive layer (3) having a skin-facing surface (6) to adhere the medical dressing to a dermal surface, wherein said adhesive layer comprises a first chemical compound incorporated within said adhesive layer, and wherein at least a portion of said skin-facing surface comprises a coating (9) comprising a second chemical compound. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing such a medical dressing.
