A solid phase synthesis system is provided by employing a fully automated robot (20) that operates with a novel timing protocol executed by a computer (25) for handling multiple synthetic tasks efficiently. The fully automated robot (20) moves along a track (35) and is equipped with a gripper arm (30) which can pick up, position, and operate syringes (40, 60) which can contain solid supports and amino acid reactants. The novel timing protocol is realized by performing steps in the synthesis cycles for different compounds, such as peptides, concurrently rather than on a sequential basis.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for an integrated process of magnetic particles and a method of controlling the same, for executing a process for magnetic particles incorporated in a fluid in an integrated state. The present invention aims to provide an apparatus for an integrated process of magnetic particles and a method of controlling the same, that can promptly and efficiently process all together in high precision, with the process of magnetic particles integrated. A fluid transfer system includes a transfer carousel capable of rotational and/or translational movement; at least one holding vessel (e.g. syringe) having a plunger, wherein the syringe is connected to the transfer carousel such that the movement of the transfer carousel results in movement of the syringe and wherein the syringe is capable of translational movement relative to the transfer carousel; a drive motor connected to the syringe that is capable of controlling the position of the plunger; and a peripheral module comprising at least one vessel that is capable of containing a fluid, wherein the vessel has an opening that can be mated with the syringe to allow fluid transfer between the vessel and the syringe. Methods for transferring a fluid are also disclosed.
