Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for producing custom-made spectacles comprising a scanning unit and a producing unit, wherein the scanning unit is configured for scanning at least a part of a customer's face and wherein the producing unit com- prises at least a printing device for printing a spectacle lens and/or a spectacle frame, wherein the printing device is configured for printing the spectacle lens and/or the spectacle frame in dependency of scanning data of the scanning unit.
Abstract:
The invention provides a curved polymeric eyewear comprising a lens body injection moulded around a laminated lens blank having one or more chroma enhancement dyes in one of the layers of the laminate. Some embodiments provide on or more of the layers of the laminate having an attenuation of 0.8 of visible light in the 440 to 490 nm band. In certain embodiments, the eyewear incorporates an optical filter eg polarizer that enhances chroma within one or more spectral bands. In certain embodiments, one or methods of production of incorporating the dyes in to the polymer are disclosed eg carbon dioxide solvent or dry colour blending.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and structural arrangement for permanently attaching lenses (128) to a pair of eye glasses (100) which include a frame structure (112) made of substantially rigid plastic material. The attachment of the lenses (128) to the frame structures (112) of eye glasses (100) is achieved during the formation of the frame structures (112). A variety of engaging structures between the lenses (128) and a frame body (114) can be formed together with the formation of frame structure (112) in a plastic formation molding procedure.
Abstract:
Plastic injection mould for the manufacture of spectacle glasses decorated using the so-called film-in-mould technique (3), said mould comprising a fixed part (1) and a movable part (2) separated by a joint face and two movable groove plates (5, 5'). According to the invention, the latter (5, 5') are each rotatably mounted on a slide (4, 4') arranged on the fixed part (1) of the mould, each of said plates (5, 5') being subjected to the action of a spring stop lodged in the fixed part (1) of the mould and to injection position retour means before closure of the mould, the material being injected via a channel (6) in the fixed part (1) of the mould and opening out between the two plates (5, 5'), ejectors being mounted in the fixed part (1) of the mould. Application in manufacture of glasses.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A one piece eyewear having concealed hinges made via 3D printing is disclosed. More specifically, the invention includes a U-shaped hinge with irregular offsets that are blended parametric curves that connect a lens frame to temple bars. The hinge is most flexible at its parabolic cross section and allows the temple bars to open and close, mimicking the rotational and stress bearing properties of traditional mechanical hinges. The eyewear is sculpted in a 3D modeling program that exports digital instructions for rendering the hinges, lens frame, and temple bars as a single construct by a 3D printer. The one piece eyewear is capable of accepting prescription or non-prescription lenses. A method for making the eyewear having concealed hinges is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a lens including a lens body and an optical filter configured to attenuate visible light in certain spectral bands. At least some of the spectral bands can include spectral features that tend to substantially increase the colorfulness, clarity, and/or vividness of a scene. In certain embodiments, eyewear incorporates an optical filter that enhances chroma within one or more spectral bands. In some embodiments, a wearer of the eyewear can perceive the increase in chroma when viewing at least certain types of scenes.
