The invention relates to a transporting system (1) for an installation, in particular a production, packaging, filling, assembly and/or processing installation, comprising a carrier system (2) having a conveying route and having a multiplicity of carrier elements (21), also comprising a first drive apparatus (3), wherein the carrier elements (21) each have a coupling device, by means of which the carrier elements (21) can be coupled to the first drive apparatus (3) for movement along the conveying route, further comprising at least one second drive apparatus (4), wherein the carrier elements (21) can be coupled, by means of the coupling device, to the at least one second drive apparatus (4) for movement along the conveying route, and additionally comprising at least one switching device (5), which is positioned on the conveying route, wherein the at least one switching device (5) can couple the coupling devices of the carrier elements (21) optionally to one of the drive apparatuses (3, 4) for movement along the conveying route. The invention also relates to an installation, in particular a production, packaging, filling, assembly and/or processing installation, having a transporting system. This invention relates to an apparatus (1) for carrying out a non-destructive inspection on a wooden board (9) or a similar object. The apparatus (1) comprises a movement system (3) comprising at least two chains or belts (32) that are at a distance from one another and substantially parallel to each other. The chains or belts (32) are slidable parallel to a movement path (30) and are and intended to support the wooden board (9). The apparatus (1) also comprises a non-destructive inspection station (2) that is positioned on the movement path (30), for carrying out a non-destructive inspection on the wooden board (9) that is supported by the chains or belts (32). The non-destructive inspection station (2) comprises at least one operating component (22) that is positioned on the same side as the chains or belts (32) and emits or receives a signal or an image, with an emission or reception field (220) that faces towards a region between two chains or belts (32). Each chain or belt (32) comprises an elongate flexible body (320) and at least one rest element (36) that is positioned on the elongate flexible body (320). The invention relates to a closed continuous conveyor (1) for pallets (20), with an upper strand (2) and a lower strand (3), which form an upper and a lower conveyor path (4, 5), with reversing sections (6) which connect said two strands (2, 3) to each other and in which are arranged deflecting elements (7), at least one of which is connected to a motor (8) and is driveable by the latter, with traction elements (9) which circulate endlessly in the upper and lower strand (2, 3) and in the reversing sections (6), are in engagement in the reversing sections (6) with the deflecting elements (7) and are driven by the latter, and with at least one circulating pallet (20) which is carried along by the traction elements (6) and circulates therewith. The displacement element (10) has a friction surface (18) adjacent to drive elements, such as drive rollers (48) of the friction conveyor for displacing the workpiece carrier system. The displacement element (10) is connected with a carrier element (12) for receiving a workpiece. Support elements (28) are connected with the carrier element (12) for absorbing part of the workpiece weight.
