The conveyor consists of a double-start helical gear (1) made to rotate by a transmission at its motorized support: the hook (3) is supported on the base (5) and pushed along by the flanks (4) of the thread; a toothed section (11) couples with a cog belt (9) over whose reverse side (10) the hook slides in crossing the said toothed section (11). The continuous helical gear is supported by cradles (6) that have an encircling angle greater than 180°. A flexible helical gear is also envisaged, enabling it to follow curved paths, with analogously sized external thread but having an internal helical groove (35), protruding through the base (5) of the thread. The conveyor is particularly suitable for conveying and storing suspended items.

A continuous converter for pyrolysing or otherwise processing biomass or other solid organic feed materials includes a reaction chamber (5) for producing a solid carbon-containing product and a gas product and optionally a liquid water product via pyrolysis or other reaction mechanisms from a solid organic feed material. The chamber has an inlet (41) for supplying a solid organic feed material to the chamber and separate outlets (15, 35) for the solid carbon-containing product and the gas product produced in the reaction chamber. The inlet and the solid carbon-containing product outlet are configured so that the solid materials in the inlet and in the outlet form respective gas seals in the inlet and the outlet.

The rings (1) consist of an ascending stretch of rotating helical gear (3), a junction (5), positioned at an intermediate level of the said node (11) up to the level of horizontal stretches (2), a stretch of descending tube (4) brings the hangers back down to the level of the said junction. Descent control devices are also provided and various arrangements of the component parts are possible. Finally, there are also supports, motorised or not, for the continuous helical gear, rigid or flexible, pin roller bearings and a cradle for the flexible helical gear with low friction rollers.
