Abstract:
Portland Cement-based concretes and mortars exhibit significant reduction in shrinkage cracking when combined with Magnesium Oxide (MgO), Shrinkage Reduction Admixtures (SRA) and Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP). However, MgO is a solid that reacts with water, SRA is a liquid, and SAP if not added properly could pull water out of the system and thus increase shrinkage. Unique admixture blends used as supplementary cementing materials that do not significantly affect concrete or cement strength properties of Portland cement itself address such issues. Proper ratios of MgO, SRA and/or SAP perform better against crack reduction when compared to commonly used Expansive Cements (EC).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an additive, in particular a dispersant for solid particles, in particular a dispersant for mineral binder compositions, comprising the following: a) a superplasticizer and b) a copolymer with a polymer backbone and side chains bonded thereto, comprising at least one ionizable monomer unit M1 and at least one side chain-supporting monomer unit M2. The copolymer has a non-random distribution of the monomer units M1 and/or the monomer units M2 in a direction along the polymer backbone, and the superplasticizer and the copolymer differ chemically and/or structurally.

Abstract:
Method to artificially agglomerate finely divided materials. A method to agglomerate finely divided material into aggregates, the aggregates being larger than the finely divided material, comprising the steps of (a) mixing finely divided material, binder and water in a mixer, (b) adding an agglomerating agent to the mix formed in step (a) and mixing constantly. Finely divided material is selected from the group consisting of cement, sand, clay, glass, slag, fly ash, stone powder, bypass dust, limestone, silica fume, crushed brick, brick powder and crushed stone or a combination thereof.
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a chemical agent whereby adjustment of air volume is easier, particularly in a hydraulic composition having fly ash blended therein. [Solution] An admixture for a hydraulic composition, having a structure indicated by general formula (1) and including a carbon blocker including either one type of compound selected from a group comprising phosphate esters or at least two mixtures; and a water-reducing agent. (In the formula, R1 indicates a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or a (meth)acryloyl group, A 1 O indicates a C2-3 oxyalkylene group, n indicates an average added molar number for the oxyalkylene group A 1 O of 2-150, m indicates an integer between 1 and 3, M indicates a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, a group II metal atom, an ammonium group, or an organic ammonium group.)
