Abstract:
An artificial leather having a suede appearance and colours within the grey-black range and high colour fastness comprising a microfibrous component and an elastomeric matrix; the microfibrous component consisting of polyester microfibres having a count of 0.01 to 0.50 dtex; the elastomeric matrix consisting of polyurethane consisting of soft and hard segments; the ratio between the elastomeric matrix and the microfibrous component ranging from 20/80 and 50/50 by mass; the microfibrous component containing carbon black pigment in a percentage of 0.05 to 2.00% by mass; the elastomeric matrix containing carbon black pigment in a percentage of 0 to 10% by weight; the carbon black always having an average dimension smaller than 0.4 microns. The average length of the tassel is between 200 and 500 microns. The soft segments consist of at least one polycarbonate diol selected from polyalkylene carbonate diols and at least one polyester diol. The hard segments consist of urethane groups deriving from the reaction between free isocyanate groups and water. The total content of carbon black is between 0.025 and 6% by weight.
Abstract:
Tufted carpets bonded with thermoplastic binders and having improved resistance to fuzz formation due to removal of pile yarn filaments from tuft bundles comprise one or more backings, face yarn that forms a pile on one side and stitches on an opposite side, a thermoplastic binds stitches and the backing or backings, and an organic polymer that bonds filaments of the stitches. Processes for making carpets comprise applying to a stitched side of a tufted backing a liquid stitch bind composition comprising an organic polymer component, removing a liquid component of the composition to bond filaments of the stitches and bonding stitches and one or more backings with a thermoplastic binder that is melted or applied as a melt in contact with the stitched side and the backing or backings and solidified.
Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention provides artificial leather including an entangled fiber mass of ultrafine fibers and a polymeric elastomer and having a wet feel and an elegant consistent appearance similar to those of natural nubuck leather, and also provides a production method therefor. [Means of solution] Accordingly, the artificial leather of the present invention is an artificial leather including an entangled fiber mass of ultrafine fibers having a monofilament fineness of 0.01 dtex or more and 0.50 dtex or less and a polymeric elastomer; wherein at least one surface is napped; the cross-sectional profile curve of the napped surface has an arithmetic mean height Pa of 26 µm or more and 100 µm or less; the arithmetic mean height Pa of the cross-sectional profile curve of the opposite surface is 20% or more and 80% or less of the cross-sectional roughness Pa of the napped side; the existence frequency of asperity peaks found in the cross-sectional profile curve of the napped surface is 1.8 or more and 20 or less per 1.0 mm; and a woven or knitted fabric lamination is present near the opposite surface at a depth position of 10% or more and 50% or less.
