Voids 30 are formed in the flexible sheet 100', the voids 30 being surrounded by cross-sections of the fibers 10 as viewed in a cross-section parallel to a thickness direction of the flexible sheet 100', and the voids being held by the fibers 10 being bonded together by the resin 20. In a region having a unit area of the cross-section of the flexible sheet 100', a ratio (A/B) of a cross-sectional area (A) of a continuous structure 40 formed by the fibers 10 being bonded together by the resin 20 to a cross-sectional area (B) of the voids is 15/85-90/10.

A stretchable coated fabric is treated for water repellency with a fluorinated water repellent that comprises a copolymer containing a perfluoroalkyl group with six or less carbon atoms (C6 fluorinated water repellent). The use of no C8 fluorinated water repellents that contain perfluorooctanoic acid, perfluorooctane sulfonate, and the like, makes the fabric exert no influence on the environment. The fluorinated water repellent has a toluene repellency of 100 seconds or longer; a synthetic resin solution to be applied to at least one side of the stretchable fiber fabric has a thixotropic index at 23°C in a range from 1.4 to 2.0; and the synthetic resin has a 100% modulus of 5 kgf/cm 2 or greater. This prevents the synthetic resin from leaking to the back side and allows formation of a resin coating film that has good film forming properties.

An artificial leather having a suede appearance and colours within the grey-black range and high colour fastness comprising a microfibrous component and an elastomeric matrix; the microfibrous component consisting of polyester microfibres having a count of 0.01 to 0.50 dtex; the elastomeric matrix consisting of polyurethane consisting of soft and hard segments; the ratio between the elastomeric matrix and the microfibrous component ranging from 20/80 and 50/50 by mass; the microfibrous component containing carbon black pigment in a percentage of 0.05 to 2.00% by mass; the elastomeric matrix containing carbon black pigment in a percentage of 0 to 10% by weight; the carbon black always having an average dimension smaller than 0.4 microns. The average length of the tassel is between 200 and 500 microns. The soft segments consist of at least one polycarbonate diol selected from polyalkylene carbonate diols and at least one polyester diol. The hard segments consist of urethane groups deriving from the reaction between free isocyanate groups and water. The total content of carbon black is between 0.025 and 6% by weight.
