Abstract:
Disclosed are a polysiloxane-modified polyhydroxy polyurethane resin derived from a reaction between a 5-membered cyclic carbonate compound and an amine-modified polysiloxane compound, and its production process; and a resin composition, thermal recording medium, imitation leather, thermoplastic polyolefinresinskinmaterial, weatherstripmaterial, and weather strip, all of which make use of the resin.
Abstract:
Provided is an environmentally friendly process for producing a sheet-shaped material having both an elegant, napped appearance and a soft texture, which qualities have not been achieved concurrently, and also exhibiting good abrasion resistance. The process of the present invention for producing a sheet-shaped material comprises the successive steps of: (a) adding a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 98% or more and a degree of polymerization of 800 to 3,500 to a fibrous substrate in an amount of 0.1 to 50% by mass relative to the total mass of fibers in the fibrous substrate; (b) adding a waterborne polyurethane to the fibrous substrate with the added polyvinyl alcohol; and (c) removing the polyvinyl alcohol from the fibrous substrate with the added waterborne polyurethane.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a textile sheet product (1). According to the invention, said textile sheet product (1) is characterized by a plurality of coating elements (2), which are arranged on a surface (111) of a textile substrate layer (11) of the sheet product in such a way that only part of the surface of the substrate layer is covered by the coating elements. The coating elements are made of a material that substantially is a mixture of a polymer material, preferably a prepolymer that can be cross-linked to form a thermoset, and a filler in the form of inorganic and/or metal particles (22). In a method according to the invention for producing a textile sheet product (1), a textile substrate layer (11) and a coating material are provided. In order to form coating elements (2), a plurality of portions of the coating material are applied to a surface (111) of the substrate layer. The portions of the coating material are arranged on the surface in such a way that the portions do not overlap, and only part of the surface of the substrate layer is covered by the coating material. Subsequently, the coating material is fixed, whereby a plurality of solid coating elements (2) is formed on the substrate layer.
Abstract:
An aqueous coating composition for reducing friction and/or blocking at a surface, said composition comprising a solid lubricant and a modified or synthetic clay mineral having thickening properties such that a 2% by weight aqueous dispersion of the modified or synthetic clay mineral thickener has a viscosity of at least 1000 mPa·s. Preferred clay minerals used as thickeners are preferably smectite clays such as saponite, hectorite, stevensite, sauconite, bentonite, beidellite, nontronite, or montmorillonite.

Abstract:
An aqueous dispersion including (A) at least one base polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based co-polymer and a propylene-based co-polymer; (B) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent; and at least one filler; wherein the polymeric stabilizing agent is different from the at least one base polymer and is compatible with the at least one base polymer and the at least one filler, and wherein the dispersion has filler in the range of greater than 0 to about 600 parts per hundred parts of a combined amount of the at least one base polymer and the polymeric stabilizing agent is disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a synthetic grass surface (1) comprising widely spaced rows of ribbons (7) and the ribbons (7) having a length about twice as long as the spacing between the rows (5) of ribbons (7). A particular material (9) is laid on a matrix (3) of the synthetic grass, and the thickness of the particulate material (9) is at least two-thirds the length of the ribbons (7). The strips of ribbons (7) are attached by strips of bonding material (45) applied to the back of the matrix or mat (3). The strips of bonding material (45) are spaced apart and leave areas of mat which are uncoated, thereby providing improved drainage.
