摘要: An insulated glazing unit can include a spacer frame disposed between a first substrate from a second substrate and forming a portion of a sealed boundary and a flexible circuit extending through the sealed boundary. In an embodiment, the flexible circuit includes a flexible ribbon having a total length, LA, and an effective length, LE, and wherein LE is less than LA. In another embodiment, the flexible circuit includes an expandable portion adapted to expand a length of the flexible circuit to accommodate: relative movement between two or more portions of the insulated glazing unit, resizing of one or more portions of the insulated glazing unit, or any combination thereof.

摘要: This disclosure provides connectors for smart windows. A smart window may incorporate an optically switchable pane. In one aspect, a window unit includes an insulated glass unit including an optically switchable pane. A wire assembly may be attached to the edge of the insulated glass unit and may include wires in electrical communication with electrodes of the optically switchable pane. A floating connector may be attached to a distal end of the wire assembly. The floating connector may include a flange and a nose, with two holes in the flange for affixing the floating connector to a first frame. The nose may include a terminal face that present two exposed contacts of opposite polarity.

摘要: Bei einer Isolierverglasung (1) mit mindestens zwei zueinander beabstandet angeordneten und parallel oder nahezu parallel ausgerichteten Glasscheiben (2, 3) und mit einem Abstandhalter (4, 4'), der seitlich entlang den von den Glasscheiben (2, 3) gebildeten Außenkanten (7) verläuft und der unmittelbar an den Glasscheiben (2, 3) mittels einer an dem Abstandhalter (4, 4') angearbeiteten Klebefläche (11, 12) befestigt ist und diese miteinander zur Bildung der Isolierverglasung (1) fixiert, soll die Isolierverglasung (1) eine große Höhe von mindestens 1,6 Metern abdecken können und gleichzeitig soll die Isolierverglasung (1) eine hohe Eigenstabilität aufweisen.

摘要: A flexible edge seal for a vacuum insulating glazing unit. The flexible edge seal comprises an elongate first edge seal portion having a substantially constant first cross-section and including a bonding flange at one end, a weld surface at the other end and a first center portion therebetween. An elongate second edge seal portion has a substantially constant second cross-section and includes a bonding flange at one end, a weld surface at the other end and a second center portion therebetween. Each bonding flange includes a substantially flat portion adapted for hermetic bonding to a surface of a different one of a pair of glass panes. The weld surfaces are hermetically joined to one another forming a hermetic seal therebetween. At least one of the first center portion and the second center portion has a convolute cross-section and is asymmetrical to the other center portion.

摘要: A spacer for a sealed unit is formed of a stretched elongate strip of material, such as metal. The elongate strip is longitudinally stretched, causing a reduction in the thickness of the material. Stretching is performed by applying a tension across a segment of an elongate strip. The tension can be applied to the elongate strip by passing the elongate strip through at least two spaced sets of rollers. A first set of rollers operating at a first speed engages with the elongate strip and a second set of rollers operating at a second speed applies a tension to the elongate strip to cause stretching of the material. Corrugated rollers can also be used to form the material into an undulating shape.

摘要: An insulating glass unit (IGU) is provided that includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first and second substrates are spaced apart and substantially parallel to each other. The two substrates are hermetically sealed. A mini-junction device is positioned between the two substrates. The mini-junction device is at an edge of the two substrates without extending beyond their periphery. The mini-junction device houses an electrical coupling between a pair of wires and a pair of leads. A first end and the pair of wires and a first end of the pair of leads are coupled together. A second end of the pair of wires extends beyond the periphery of the substrates. A second end of the pair of leads extends through the first substrate. The IGU also includes a photovoltaic module coupled to the first substrate and electrically coupled to the second end of the pair of leads.
