    摘要: In an outboard engine system in which a passage defining member having a passage wall defining an exhaust gas passage for guiding an exhaust gas from an engine is provided at its outer wall with a recess and a seal surface surrounding the recess; a fluid passage isolated from the exhaust gas passage is defined between the recess and a lid member which is mounted to the outer wall of the passage defining member with a seal member interposed between the lid member and the seal surface; and an exhaust gas sampling pipe is inserted into the exhaust gas passage through an insertion bore provided in the passage defining member to open into the seal surface, it is arranged that the seal member is formed to surround an opening at an outer end of the insertion bore, and the exhaust gas sampling pipe is gas-tightly fixed in the lid member to extend through the lid member. Thus, the exhaust gas sampling pipe can be inserted into the exhaust gas passage, while avoiding an increase in size of the lid member.

A heat generating element (51) generates heat by energizing a temperature sensitive actuator (2) via conducting terminals (41, 42). The generated heat expands a wax (W) to project a piston (21), and an elastic member (23) biases the piston (21) in a direction opposite to the projecting direction. In order to attach the temperature sensitive actuator (2) to an attachment portion (11) of an object member (1), fixing protrusions (41a) are provided in the conducting terminal (41) of the temperature sensitive actuator (2), and receiving portions (14) which can receive the fixing protrusions (41a) in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the piston (21) are provided in the attachment portion (11). The temperature sensitive actuator (2) is attached to the object member (1) by inserting the fixing protrusions (41a) into the receiving portions (14).

    摘要: An engine starting system that includes a power source (320), an electromagnetic coil (330) and core (335), and a choke valve (340) disposed in an air intake of an air/fuel-mixing device of an internal combustion engine. At the time of starting the engine, the power source outputs an electrical signal to an electromagnetic coil and core, inducing a magnetic field from the electromagnetic coil and the core. The magnetic field from the core moves the choke valve toward a substantially closed position that enriches an intake mixture of fuel and air to the engine during starting. In one embodiment, the power source includes a moving magnet (325) that interacts with a stator coil to provide the electrical signal to the electromagnetic coil. In another embodiment, the closing of a starter switch allows a battery to provide the electrical power to the electromagnetic coil.
