A system (10) for carrying out the method includes a flow controller (26) for controlling operation of the supply system (10) to deliver compressed gas from a source (12) to a vessel (24) through a supply line (22) at a desired ramp rate. The system employs a pressure monitor (34) downstream of a control valve (28) for measuring the pressure of gas directed into the vessel (24) and transmitting pressure-related data to the flow controller (26), which closes the control valve (28) to discontinue filling of the vessel (24) if the actual pressure exceeds a permissible deviation from the intended pressure.

The gas vaporizes from the liquid phase (5), so that the gas in the container (2) discharges form the on-off value (V1). In this manner, the temperature and pressure of the liquefied gas in the container (2) can be kept constant. After measuring, the liquid level in the container (2) fall down by evaporation, so that the liquid gas is supplied by the refrigerator (7). In this manner, the liquid level in the container (2) can be kept constant.
