The invention relates to a weaving method for producing a plurality of moisture sensors for a device for monitoring an access in a patient, in particular for monitoring access to a vessel during extracorporeal blood treatment. The disclosed method for producing moisture sensors is characterized in that the moisture sensors are woven. When weaving the moisture sensors, non-conductive warp threads and non-conductive weft threads as well as conductive warp threads and conducting weft threads are arranged in the textile fabric in such a way that spatially definable structures of electric strip conductors are formed. The strip conductor structures can be created by spatially separating or contacting the conductive warp threads or weft threads. In order to be able to produce large batches of moisture sensors at a low cost, multiple individual moisture sensors are repeatedly woven next to one another transversely to the direction of production on a common web of fabric as the weaving process progresses such that as many moisture sensors as possible are accommodated as well as possible across the width of the web of fabric. The individual moisture sensors are separated from one another following the weaving process.

Techniques for leak detection are described. A leak detection module may include a plurality of wires comprising one or more collection points. The leak detection module may further include a capacitor configured to store a charge for powering the module during a power-off state and a plurality of switches to be controlled by a processor. The processor may initiate a predetermined switching sequence when a power-off state has been detected. During the switching sequence, leak detection data may be collected at the one or more collection points. The collected leak detection data may be stored in a set of registers. The leak detection module may transmit the stored leak detection data. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
