An erasable product such as an erasable and rewritable label or an erasable sign comprises a base layer (2) and a transparent or translucent upper sheet (3) over the base layer (2) which provides a smooth and wrinkle-free top surface to the product. The upper sheet (3) and base layer (2) are releasably adhesive together under pressure applied manually on the upper sheet (3) such as writing pressure with a blunt stylus, to cause the upper sheet (3) and the base layer (2) to adhere in the localised region of pressure to display the writing in the case of a label. The upper sheet (3) can be moved sufficiently to separate it from the base layer (2) when a user's finger or thumb is wiped across the top surface of the upper sheet (3). The upper sheet (3) also extends over a wipe-start region (2a) where the upper sheet (3) and the base layer (2) are not adhesive together, over which wipe-start region (2a) a user's finger or thumb may be placed from which to begin said movement to separate the upper sheet (3) from the base layer (2).

More specifically, disclosed is an array of such containers which are interconnected by a single laminated multi-layered material constituting a covering label for the containers, wherein the material may be severed intermediate each of the containers along weakening lines formed by micro-perforations provided therein so as to provide a separate packaging arrangement. The material is imprinted over the surface extent thereof covering the plurality of containers with a specific pattern of indicia and legends configured with the intent of thwarting diverters upon separation of any of the packaging arrangements from the array, through visual evidence afforded by an inspection of the printing pattern.

As an alternative the ink which is visible under ultraviolet light can be printed upon the under surface of the substrate provided that this is transparent. Such tapes or labels can be used for packaging or labelling as a security feature which is visible under ultraviolet light but not otherwise visible.

An opaque, abrasive removable fragrance releasing composition, coating and article are provided. A method of releasing a fragrance while revealing a message is also provided. The composition can be a dispersion containing opaque particulate material, rupturable microcapsules containing a fragrant material, a binder for adhering the opaque particulate material and the microcapsules when the composition is applied to and dried on the substrate, and a solvent compatible with these materials. The composition is applied on a message-bearing article to conceal at least a portion of the message, forming a coating. When the coating is abrasively removed with a coin, finger or the like, some of the microcapsules are ruptured to release the fragrant material and the coating is removed from the substrate to reveal the concealed message.

In an embroidered emblem ( 20 ), stitching ( 22 ) extends through the first and second layers ( 12′ ) and ( 24 ), and a third layer of dye impermeable thermoplastic material ( 14′ ) is bonded to the second layer ( 24 ) overlying and bonded to the stitching ( 22 ). A fourth layer of thermoplastic adhesive material ( 16′ ) is bonded to the third layer ( 14′ ). Methods for making the dye impermeable, distortion resistant textile identification products are also set forth.
