摘要:

Provided are system and method for correcting a state-of-charging (SOC) of a battery. The system for correcting the SOC of the battery includes an SOC measuring unit measuring an SOC value of the battery, a storage unit storing preset operation ranges to determine whether charging/discharging of the battery is compensated, a determining unit determining an operation range corresponding to the SOC value of the battery among the preset operation ranges, and an SOC correcting unit adjusting a dead band in charging/discharging directions or charging/discharging power according to the result determined in the determining unit to correct the SOC value of the battery. The method for correcting the SOC of the battery includes measuring an SOC value of the battery, comparing the SOC value to preset operation ranges to determine an operation range corresponding to the SOC value, and adjusting a dead band in charging/discharging directions or charging/discharging power according to conditions corresponding to the operation range which corresponds to the SOC value to correct the SOC value of the battery.

Method for evaluation of the state of health of a lithium battery comprising: • a) a first step of recharging said battery at constant current, until the voltage (U) at its terminals reaches a limit value (Ucv); then • b) a second step of recharging said battery at constant voltage equal to said limit value, until the charging current (I) drops below a threshold value (I min ), a plurality of charging current measurements being acquired during said second recharging step; and • c) a step of estimating the state of health of said battery using at least one characteristic parameter of said second step of recharging at constant voltage, such as the parameter describing the decrease of an exponential function interpolating the charging current measurements, the energy supplied to said battery during said second step of recharging at constant voltage or the duration of said charging step at constant voltage. The invention also relates to an apparatus for implementing such a method and a battery management system comprising such an apparatus.

A bipolar overvoltage battery pulser and method are provided that apply a positive pulse voltage and a negative pulse voltage alternately across the terminals of a battery. The object of the bipolar overvoltage battery pulser and method is to increase the cycle lifetime and capacity of storage batteries, such as lead acid batteries. The rise times for the leading edges of the positive pulses and for the trailing edges of the negative pulses are short compared to the ionic relaxation time in the electrochemical solution. Alternating between the positive and negative pulses gives each new pulse an equal starting condition without realizing any memory effect that otherwise may result if the last applied pulse was of the same polarity, which reduces the extent of overvoltage that may be applied to the battery and decrease the highest useable pulse cycling frequencies that could be achieved without experiencing pulse overlapping. The shape, type and timing of the pulses may be adjusted to create overvoltage pulses having high duration and amplitude.
