摘要: A power amplifier circuit for broadband data communication over a path in a communication network can reduce or avoid gain compression, provide low distortion amplification performance, and can accommodate a wider input signal amplitude range. A dynamic variable bias current circuit can be coupled to a common emitter bias node of a differential pair of transistors to provide a dynamic variable bias current thereto as a function of an input signal amplitude of an input signal. Bias current is increased when input signal amplitude exceeds a threshold voltage established by an offset or level-shifting circuit. The frequency response of the bias current circuit can track the frequency content of the input signal. A delay in the signal path to the differential pair can phase-align the bias current to the amplification by the differential pair. A dynamic variable supply voltage can be based on an envelope of the input signal.

摘要: Embodiments of this application provide an envelope tracking modulator, comprising: a linear amplification circuit, a coupling capacitor, a buck circuit, a circuit sensor, and an offset current generation circuit. An output end of the linear amplification circuit is coupled to a first end of the coupling capacitor, and a second end of the coupling capacitor is coupled to a power supply node. The offset current generation circuit is coupled to the first end and the second end of the coupling capacitor, and the offset current generation circuit is further coupled to a control end of the buck circuit. An input end of the circuit sensor is coupled to a line between the output end of the linear amplification circuit and the first end of the coupling capacitor, and an output end of the circuit sensor is coupled to the control end of the buck circuit.

摘要: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry having an amplifier configured to receive a radio-frequency signal generated from a baseband signal, a first adjustable load component coupled to an output of the amplifier, a second adjustable load component coupled to the output of the amplifier, and a control signal generator configured to output one or more control signals for tuning the first and second adjustable load components based on an envelope of the baseband signal or the radio-frequency signal. The first adjustable load component can provide a first tuning range covering a first subrange of an instantaneous signal envelope of the baseband signal or the radio-frequency signal, whereas the second adjustable load can provide a second tuning range covering a second subrange of the instantaneous signal envelope of the baseband signal or the radio-frequency signal. The first and second tuning ranges are combined to provide an extended tuning range.
