Abstract:
A global endpoint may be associated with an organization name and a plurality of directories located in different geographic regions. The global endpoint may be a computing system that hosts a page used by users to access an application or service. A user may be able to access the application or service using already existing credentials. For example, the user may access the application or service using credentials stored and maintained by an entity with which the user is affiliated. Users having credentials stored in different geographic regions may be able to access the application or service via the same global endpoint.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an apparatus, system and method of aggregating address book sources. Contact entries from these sources are retrieved by a server. There can be multiple contact entries for the same contact. Without modifying the original contact entries, the server links together similar contact entries such that these similar contact entries are virtually aggregated but not physically merged. An aggregated address book at the server includes a distinct contact entry for each contact and can be viewed from one or more end-user devices either in a browser or in a client application. One or more address book sources are automatically updated based on changes made to the aggregated address book at the server from an end-user device. The aggregated address book is also automatically updated based on changes made at one or more of the address book sources.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device, a method and a central server for providing service to a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol LDAP client from a central server with multiple back-ends. A LDAP request for accessing a service is received from the LDAP client, and the requested service is identified from the LDAP request. One or more back-ends are scheduled to provide service according to a rule predefined for the requested service, which rule indicating which back-end(s) are to be used for the requested service. The scheduled back-end(s) are queried with respective back-end requests according to the rule to obtain back-end responses. A LDAP response based on the obtained back-end responses is formed and is provide to the LDAP client. This allows a central server with multiple back-ends to provide services for LDAP client in a more efficient way.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a presence enabled network comprising a presence server 104, 132, presence database 106, 136 comprising presence information, and a plurality of communication devices 120, 124, a method for ascertaining availability of a person having an associated address within a name space, characterized by the steps: a) determining at least a first degree of contactability on at least a first communication device, wherein the first communication device has at least a first mode of communication; b) determining at least a second degree of contactability on at least a second communication device, wherein the second communication device has at least a second mode of communication, wherein the first and second modes of communication are different; and c) presenting to the contactor at least the first and second modes of communication and at least the first and second degrees of contactability, respectively, and the option to select between the at least first and second modes of communication.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a presence and availability system including: (a) an input (e.g., an interface) operable to receive an agent report from a context sensing agent in a host entity associated with a person, the agent report comprising presence information and the person having an address in an associated name space; (b) a tracking agent 154 operable to tag at least some of the presence information with at least one classification tag; and (c) a policy agent 158 operable to determine presence information to be provided to a requestor based on the at least one classification tag.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for clustering and communicating between Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) entities are disclosed. According to one aspect, an IMS cluster node (400) includes a serving call state control function (S-CSCF) (214) for controlling media sessions between IMS users. The cluster node (400) further includes a home subscriber service (HSS) function for storing and providing IMS subscription information to the S-CSCF function (214). A shared memory (218) is operatively associated with the S-CSCF function (214) and the HSS function. The S-CSCF function (214) obtains IMS subscription information from the HSS function via the shared memory (218).
Abstract:
An apparatus, method and system to register and provide a persistent indentifier of information that may be located in multiple locations, formats, and accesible in variable fashions based on the context of use. The present disclosure further provides the ability to automatically make information available and associated with its identifier. The disclosure also details the ability to create identifier. The disclosure also details the ability to create identifiers from content authoring tools within and for documents and/or other information. The invention teaches how to associate a single identifier while making information available, and accessible under varying conditions, from varying locations, in varying formats, based on various contexts of access. The present disclosure further teaches an enhanced digital object identifier, an enhanced Handle system, and enhanced directory registry that facilitate the access, association, and instantiation of information over a communications network.
Abstract:
Mechanisms for associating metadata with network resources, and for locating and communicating with the network resources are disclosed. Owners of network resources define metadata that describes each network resource. The metadata includes a telephone number related to the network resource, its location, its language, its region or intended audience, and other descriptive information. The owners register the metadata in a registry. To locate a selected network resource, a client provides the telephone number to a resolver process. The resolver process provides to the client the network resource location corresponding to the telephone number. Accordingly, network resources can be located and communications with the resource can proceed merely by providing the telephone number associated with the network resource. Methods, systems, computer data signals, recordable media and methods of doing business for wireless or wired network communication between network resources each having a unique telephone number associated therewith, including, among other feature, forming a primary number file (PNF) comprising a uniform telephone address (UTA) which has a telephone number associated with a network resource.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method and system to track information access over a communications network. The present disclosure teaches how to associate access credentials with content accesser in a global and persistent manner. Both content and people are registered with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) handle system (1603). Furthermore, security and other information such as certificates, personal records, encryption keys, and all other objects involved in such transactions may also be registered with a DOI in the handle system and/or may be associated with another DOI as one of the multiple-resolution pointers contained in a DOI record. A right clearinghouse (1604) then maintains a rights database associated content rights with content accessers by DOIs. The association of people, i.e., content accessers, with digital object identifiers further ensures that content and accessers may be mapped in a manner allowing for the secure tracking of content access.
