Abstract:
Network component comprising an input interface for receiving a media stream from a web client application, an output interface for transmitting a requested media stream to a further web client application, a stream manager adapted for storing information about media streams, a controller connected to the input and output interface, adapted to register incoming streams, and adapted to register requested media streams in the stream manager, and a processor for transferring a registered incoming stream from an input interface to an output interface requesting the registered incoming stream.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as a long term evolution (LTE). A method for uploading data by a station (STA) in a mobile communication system supporting a plurality of radio access interfaces (RAIs) is provided. The method includes, upon detecting that there is content to be uploaded, determining whether a first RAI among the plurality of RAIs is available, and when the first RAI is available, transmitting a header message including information related to the content and a body message including at least one of a plurality of segments which are generated based on the content to a proxy server through the first RAI to upload the at least one of the plurality of segments to an original server.
Abstract:
A multi-cloud data replication method includes providing a data replication cluster comprising at least a first host node and at least a first online storage cloud. The first host node is connected to the first online storage cloud via a network and comprises a server, a cloud array application and a local cache. The local cache comprises a buffer and a first storage volume comprising data cached in one or more buffer blocks of the local cache's buffer. Next, requesting authorization to perform cache flush of the cached first storage volume data to the first online storage cloud. Upon receiving approval of the authorization, encrypting the cached first storage volume data in each of the one or more buffer blocks with a data private key. Next, assigning metadata comprising at lest a unique identifier to each of the one or more buffer blocks and then encrypting the metadata with a metadata private key. Next, transmitting the one or more buffer blocks with the encrypted first storage volume data to the first online cloud storage. Next, creating a sequence of updates of the metadata, encrypting the sequence with the metadata private key and then transmitting the sequence of metadata updates to the first online storage cloud.
Abstract:
Techniques, systems, and computer readable media are provided that allow for portions of media items to be cached, prior to selection of any media item for playback by a user. The portion of a media item to be cached is determined based upon one or more caching factors, such as the likelihood that a user will select the media item for playback. Playback of a media item thus may begin without any noticeable buffering or caching, immediately upon selection of the media item by the user.
Abstract:
A method for conserving network and battery usage is provided. The method includes determining that a device is communicating over at least two overlapping push channels and blocking one of the push channels to eliminate or reduce overlap between the at least two overlapping push channels. Related systems are also provided.
Abstract:
A data-caching system facilitates pre-loading a cache with content objects that are likely to be of interest to a client device, as determined based on their correlation to other content objects served to the client device. During operation, the system can receive an interest for a content object, and can determine whether the local network device can satisfy the interest. If so, the system generates a content-object recommendation that indicates other content objects that are correlated with the received interest, for example, by computing correlation values between the received interest and a plurality of historical interests. The system then provides the content recommendation to a remote network device from which the interest originated, such that the content recommendation indicates the correlated content objects to pre-load into a cache.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reliable method and device for transfer of data from a first network to a second network. The method and device of the present invention can for example be used for a transfer of voluminous backup data over a link with limited bandwidth.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for causing a file to be sent from a source device (110) over a network (120) to one or more destination devices (150A-C). An intermediary (130) receives a notification of a file and determines which destination device(s) are to retrieve the file. The intermediary (130) may determine the destination device(s) (150A-C) based on one or more attributes of the file. The intermediary may cause the file to be stored in persistent storage that is maintained by a separate storage service (140). The intermediary (130) may cause the file to be deleted after a particular period of time. The source device (110) may send multiple versions of a file to the intermediary (130), which determines which destination device (150A-C) is to receive which version. The file may be a digital image and a destination device (150A-C) may be a device that displays a slideshow of digital images while the destination device receives the digital image over a network.
