The purged gas exits the contactor at a first contactor outlet. The contactor is in fluid communication with the second liquid source at a second contactor outlet, and the contactor drains at least a portion of the liquid in the contactor, the drained liquid exiting the contactor at the second contactor outlet. The contactor includes a third inlet in fluid communication with the first liquid source, the third inlet allowing the first liquid source to release liquid at an ambient pressure.

A booster pump for a coffee beverage dispenser's water inlet source, in one example, a “city water” inlet. A chamber is formed which has the diluent/water inlet and a bottom surface and a top end covered by a removable lid. The removable lid has a hole large enough for a motor to be partially seated within the chamber and the motor has a shaft with supports that is connected to a cover plate that has through holes, and a rotor below the cover plate with a set of radially oriented vanes. The hole in the lid is bigger than the cross section of the cover plate and so the motor, shaft, supports, rotors and cover plate can be pulled out as desired for easier maintenance. When the motor is seated properly in the hole of the lid, the cover plate seats properly along the edge of a cylindrically shaped pump cavity. The cover plate and the edge form a seal. The inlet for the pump cavity has a smaller cross section than its outlet and the pump cavity can have a deflection body. The outlet for the diluent or water leads to the coffee beverage dispenser device.

A buffer unit (10) is configured to store and transfer adhesive particulate to at least one adhesive melter. The buffer unit (10) includes a buffer bin (12) defining an interior space (IS) configured to hold a bulk supply of adhesive particulate with an agitator plate (20) positioned within the housing (14) at a non-horizontal orientation. A vibration generating mechanism (26) is coupled to the agitator plate (20) so that vibration is transmitted into the adhesive particulate to form a flow of fluidized adhesive particulate which flows toward at least one pump inlet (22). The buffer unit (10) breaks up clumps of coalesced adhesive particulate to avoid clogging the pump inlet (22), while also ensuring that all adhesive particulate in the buffer bin (12) can be removed at the pump inlet (22). Additionally, makeup air used by pumps (24) to generate vacuum at the pump inlet (22) does not need to be drawn through the entire bulk supply of adhesive particulate.
