In order to obtain a combined pressure limiting and pipe-break valve, the invention provides that a valve body (6, 35, 50) is regulated into a closed position in a valve seat (5, 51) depending on feed pressure once a coolant throughput enabling maximum heat transfer has been reached in the downstream heat exchangers (42), wherein an expected throttle passage (7, 36, 52) is used to maintain a coolant throughput corresponding to maximum heat transfer and is further used as part of a pipe-break valve, which is fixed in a closed position, in case of a pipe-break of the valve body (6, 35, 50).

Eine der Anschlußöffnungen (30) ist an dem Drosselorgan (17) vorgesehen, wobei der sich an sie anschließende Abschnitt (34) des Drosselkanals (28) das Drosselorgan (17) durchsetzt. Auf diese Weise fällt eine Anschlußseite mit der Einstellseite des Drosselventils zusammen, was den benötigten Einbauraum reduziert.
