A method of manufacturing a member which has different cross sections at different positions in a height direction. A hoop-like long object to be machined is fed progressively in a longitudinal direction. A plurality of structural members which have outlines corresponding to the respective cross sections of the member are formed at a plurality of stages, and progressively fed while they are secured to the object. At the final stage, the structural members are successively punched and stacked and unified. Alternatively, together with the punching of the structural members, relief holes through the structural members are provided. After the structural members are stacked and welded by a laser beam, another structural member is put on the welded stacked structural members in such a way that its relief holes are aligned with the weld protuberances of the welded structural members and pressed. A laser beam is applied to portions of the structural members other than the relief holes to unify the structural members successively.

Les organes 7, 8, 9 sont disposés sur une même ligne parallèle à l'avance du paquet (1), et espacés horizontalement d'une distance égale à ladite avance. Ainsi un même point du paquet 1 sera positionné tour à tour sous le foret 7, puis sous la pipette 8 (trou 11), puis sous la pipette 9 (trou 12). A chaque arrêt entre deux phases d'avance, le foret descend et les pipettes débitent un peu de produit.
