Abstract:
When a multilayer body is cut, an intermediate layer at an end face of the multilayer body is stably covered by a surface resin layer. A method of cutting a multilayer body is characterized as follows. When at least one layer of resin that structures a multilater body (10) is in a melted state, a cutter blade (15) is made to cut for a predetermined amount into the multilayer body (10) supported by a blade-receiving portion (14). Then, as an upper layer breaks into a lower layer, individual layers (11, 12, 13) are extended, compressed, and deformed, so that the layers become thin. A portion (S), or the compressed thin portion, is cut by pressing the cutter blade (15) on the portion (S) until the blade butts against the blade-receiving portion (14), and the intermediate layer (11) and each of the surface resin layers (12, 13) are converged at a butt portion (A) where the cutter blade (15) and the blade receiving-portion (14) butt against each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a form-cut object made of foam. The invention is based on the aim of refining a known method for producing a form-cut object made of foam in that it also allows the precise creation of complex shaped form cuts in the foam. This aim is achieved by the method according to the invention in that the first preliminary version of the object in the region of a first form or contour cut is provided with a (second) form cut, which is superimposed on the first form or contour cut and extends down to larger depths than the first cut. Preferred application areas of the claimed method and the resultant objects made of foam are pillows, for example.
Abstract:
A thermal and acoustic barrier for automotive floor-pan carpeting is made by cutting synthetic foam sheet in a continuous process to create a foam surface complementary to the three-dimensional shape of the floor-pan surface. The cut foam sheet (54) is bonded to the underside of the carpeting (52) and installed with the complementary foam surface (60) facing the floor pan (40).
Abstract:
Methods for continuously shaping a compressible or cellular polymer material, such as polyurethane foam, by cutting portions of the material from a surface of one or more slabs of material (180) include: (a) compressing one or more slabs of cellular material between a pair of compression rollers (146, 146a) and two moving patterned platforms (132, 132a) interposed between the compression rollers, and (b) transversely cutting the slab or slabs with a blade or blades (76) just as the cellular material emerges from between the compression rollers. At least one of the moving patterned platforms, preferably an endless belt, defines a recess or pattern of recesses. When a single slab or multiple slabs of material are fed and compressed between the compression rollers, a portion of the material from one side of the slab or slabs fills the recess or recesses in one of the moving patterned belts. The blade then transversely cuts the cellular material.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for cutting through a banderole (11) encompassing a stack (10) of blanks, wherein the banderole (11) cut through and subsequently removed from the stack of blanks (10), preferably in the area of a banderole station (19), by a cutting tool, particularly a knife (23). According to the invention, the stack of blanks (10) is pressed together such that the banderole (11) is separated from the stack of blanks (10), at least in segments, and the banderole (11) is then cut through by the cutting tool in the separated area. The invention further relates to a corresponding device for said purpose.
