    摘要: A miter saw includes a base, a turntable rotatable in relation to the base and including a work piece support surface, a support assembly attached to the turntable, and a saw assembly attached to the support assembly and configured to cut a work piece supported on the turntable. A fence assembly includes an elongate fence body that extends along a first axis. The elongate fence body is supported by the base and positioned over the turntable. The fence body has a first connecting structure, and a fence insert defining an elongate work piece abutment surface and having a second connecting structure. The fence assembly is positionable in a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the second connecting structure cooperates with the first connecting structure to secure the fence insert at a first position in relation to the fence body. When the fence assembly is positioned in the second configuration, the second connecting structure cooperates with the first connecting structure to secure the fence insert at a second position in relation to the fence body. A second axis intersects the first axis in a perpendicular manner. When the fence insert is secured at the first position, the elongate work piece abutment surface is positioned to intersect the second axis at a first point. When the fence insert is secured at the second position, the elongate work piece abutment surface is positioned to intersect the second axis at a second point, and the first point is offset from the second point along said second axis.

    摘要: An automatic hole punch is disclosed for creating holes in a sheave of sheet material. The automatic hole punch is preferably user-selectable between punching modes, such as two-hole and three-hole modes. A motor (54) is coupled to a camshaft (74) by a gear train (62). The camshaft (74) carries a plurality of cams (90) each having an associated punch (86). As the camshaft (74) rotates, the cams (90) sequentially drive corresponding punches (86). However, depending on the selected modality, one or more punches (86) may be idle by not being engaged with their respective cams (90), thus resulting in varying combinations of driven punches (86) resulting in different hole patterns. Finally, a spacer (130) can be inserted into a material receiving slot (38) for adjusting the relative positioning of the material to the punches (86) to properly position the hole pattern along an edge of the material to be punched.

    摘要: In an apparatus for shearing multi-walled workpieces, such as metal framing studs, a base support (16) defines a blade gap (18) therebetween, and a guillotine-like blade (30) is slidably received within the gap for shearing the workpieces. A pair of first supports (20) are each slidably mounted on a respective base support (16, 18). A pair of second supports (22) are also each slidably mounted on the base support, and are spaced apart from and face the first supports to thereby define an adjustable-width channel (28) therebetween. Each of the supports defines a blade-like edge for engaging an elongated, multi-walled workpiece and the first and second support surfaces are each moved into contact with a respective wall of the workpiece. The supports can be oriented relative to one another such that the axis of the channel, and a longitudinal axis of the workpiece received within the channel can be oriented at a desired angle relative to the blade. The guillotine-like blade is then driven downwardly into engagement with the workpiece to shear the workpiece along a line of contact.
