Rotation of the external eccentric(30) urges the internal eccentric(32) to move with respect to the cylinder(14), and the die plate(18) moves in response to motion of the internal eccentric.

Die Erfindung betrifft Maßnahmen zur Halterung und Verstellung eines Messers an einer Messertrommel eines aus zwei Messertrommeln bestehenden Querschneiders zum Schneiden von Papierbahnen. Es ist das Ziel, eine derartige Einrichtung hinsichtlich der Bedienbarkeit und des Materialeinsatzes zu verbessern. Erreicht wird dies dadurch, daß das liegend montierte Messer (6) formschlüssig mit einer Keilfläche (23) einer Klemmleiste (17) zusammenwirkt, welche durch Spannbolzen (18) mit der Messertrommel (3) verspannt und durch Druckbolzen (26) auf einer Schiebefläche (27) verstellt wird, wodurch das Messer durch Gleitführung entlang einer Anlagefläche (19) der Messertrommel (3) verschoben wird. Ein derartiges Messer kann unter erheblicher Materialeinsparung relativ dünn und als Einwegmesser ausgebildet werden.

The rotation axes (A,B) of the blade (16) and of the counter blade (28) are displaceable relative to each other, perpendicularly to the web (N), and actuator means (18,31,37) are provided to operate mutual approaching thereof when the blade (16) and the counter blade (28) are placed in a mutually facing angular position for cutting the web (N). The blade (16) and the counter blade (28) are rotated only at the time of cutting.

Shingling of paperboard sheets cut from a web with a helical blade cutoff knife utilizes the downward deflection of the trailing edge of the cut sheet and simultaneous lifting of the leading edge of the web to position the sheets for shingling immediately downstream of the knife. A vacuum outfeed conveyor takes advantage of the initial downward deflection of the sheet caused by cutting to pull the trailing edge of the sheet onto the vacuum conveyor which is simultaneously slowed relative to the lead edge of the advancing web. In the preferred embodiment, vacuum is continuously applied and the conveyor is accelerated back to line speed as soon as the leading end of the web is pulled onto the vacuum conveyor.
