Abstract:
There is provided a polyoxyalkylene-modified vinyl acetal polymer which has polyoxyalkylene groups represented by general formula (I) in side chain, in which a viscosity-average polymerization degree P is 150 to 5000, an acetalization degree is 10 to 85 mol% and a polyoxyalkylene modification rate S is 0.1 to 10 mol%. Such a polymer has a feature that a film or sheet produced therefrom has improved film strength and flexibility, as well as a feature that a resin composition therefrom is free from phase separation. wherein R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and 1‰¤m‰¤10 and 3‰¤n‰¤20.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for the manufacture of a gel precursor. The method comprising the steps of combining a polymeric photoinitiator of the general formula (I): with one or more gel-forming polymers and/or gel-forming monomers to form a matrix composition, and curing the matrix composition obtained in the first step by exposing it to UV radiation. The invention also relates to the gel precursor itself, a method for the manufacture of a hydrophilic gel, the hydrophilic gel itself and a medical device comprising or coated with said gel.
Abstract:
Acylated polyallylamine, whose cation density is controlled as desired, is easily produced by treating a solution of polyallylamine having a polymerization degree of at least 10 with a carboxylic acid anhydride such as acetic anhydride. Also, it is suggested that the present acetylated polyallylamine is used as a reactive dye-fixing agent, a direct dye-fixing agent, etc.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a pellet which contains an EVOH having a degree of saponification of 90 mol% or more and particles, which is cut into a cylindrical shape, wherein the pellet has a melting enthalpy ΔHm (J/g) of 65 (J/g) or less; the pellet contains 5 ppm to 5,000 ppm of particles with an average particle size R of 1 µm to 30 µm; the pellet has a length L (mm); recesses are formed in the lateral surface or the cut surface of the pellet; in cases where the recesses are formed in the lateral surface, the number n of the recesses is 2 to 5; at least in one cross-section perpendicular to a flow direction of the pellet positioned within L/4 (mm) from the gravity center of the pellet, distances α1 to αn respectively from the gravity center of the cross-section to the edges of the recesses formed in the lateral surface and distances β1 to βn respectively from the gravity center of the cross-section to the bottoms of the recesses formed in the lateral surface satisfy Formula (1): β1+β2⋯+βn/α1+α2⋯+αn≤0.8 in cases where the recesses are formed in the cut surface, a ratio D/L of a depth D (mm) of the recesses formed in the cut surface to a length L (mm) of the pellet is 0.1 or more; a projection having a height H of 0.1 µm to 15 µm is formed on the surface of the pellet; the projection contains the particles; and the particles are covered with the EVOH. The pellet can provide a molded article which has excellent blocking resistance and exhibits excellent flexibility. In addition, the pellet has excellent extrusion stability.
Abstract:
The present invention is a pneumatic tire comprising an inner liner disposed on the inner side of the tire. The inner liner is composed of a sheet made of an elastomer composition containing a styrene-isobutylene-styrene triblock copolymer by more than or equal to 7 percent by mass and less than or equal to 93 percent by mass and an isobutylene-based modified copolymer containing a ²-pinene component by more than or equal to 7 percent by mass and less than or equal to 93 percent by mass. In the inner liner, a ratio Gs/Gb between an average thickness Gb in a bead region Rb extending from a tire largest width position to a bead toe and an average thickness Gs in a buttress region Rs extending from the tire largest width position to a corresponding position Lu at a belt layer end is 0.30 to 0.75.
