    摘要: A substitute for amino and phenolic resins is disclosed. It is used in the polycondensation of such resins based on formaldehyde for bonding water penetrable cellulosic particles. The substitute comprises an aqueous solution of

    a) either at least one aldehyde together with at least one amide and/or together with at least one phenol, or a non-resinous condensation product of formaldehyde and urea, and
    b) a sugar or a sugar derivative or their by-products or a starch or its degradation products or a mixture thereof, and/ or
    c) a raw and/or treated lignosulfonate.

    This substitute also reduces the free formaldehyde of the resulting board without impairing the other properties thereof.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of mineral wool, comprising reacting an aqueous phenol-formaldehyde resole with free formaldehyde with a first amount of urea, thereby preparing a prereact; contacting the prereact with a second amount of urea; applying the resulting mixture of prereact and second amount of urea, as part of a binder, optionally with additives, to the surface of mineral fibers; and curing the binder on the surface of the mineral fibers. The total amount of urea used ranges 10-60 wt.% relative to the sum of the dry weight of the phenol-formaldehyde resole and the total amount of urea, provided that when Ut is between 10-40 wt. %, the second amount of urea (U2) used in c) is between 10-39 wt.% of the total amount of urea (Ut), and when Ut is between 41-60 wt.%, the second amount of urea (U2) used in c) is at least 10 wt.% of the total amount of urea (Ut). The invention also relates to a mineral wool product with reduced emissions of formaldehyde obtained by the method of the invention.
